RE: The new assistant is...
Interesting, we sure don't have a problem with coaching bigs this year. Now that the cat is out of the bag, was there a reason stated as to why it took so long to announce his hiring?

I think Larry Farmer can fill a huge hole created when BA departed for AA.

RE: The new assistant is...
Interesting. I know one Bronco fan that might get somewhat hopeful about this.....
Quote:"His recruiting tentacles reach out farther than we've had in the past," Hawkins said of Farmer, who recruited internationally while at Hawaii and has 40 years of connections all over the country.
Ain't that right, BP? Of course we don't have UCLA's budget or even Hawaii's. But maybe ........ a few old connections in the old world.......

I'm not overally impressed with his history. Yes he's won at BIG programs LIKE UCLA but look at what he's done at schools more WMU's size. Recently got fired at Hawaii his stay at Loyola wasn't great either.

So we lost two, Farmer is one, who is the second? Or has it not been announced yet, no article is shown on wmubroncos.com.

His UCLA background won't resonate with many (any?) of today's kids.

WMU lost CB and BA as assistants and Michael Murray as DO. WMU has had Jeff Dunlap return and now Larry Farmer joins the staff.
No announcement of Director of Operations. note WMU Hockey has chosen to go without a DO.

RE: The new assistant is...
I like this pick. There is a lot of commonality between Hawkins, Dunlap, and Farmer.
Sometimes just having everybody on the same page and rowing the boat in cadence can be worth a lot. No disrespect to CB and BA at all.
If there is anything arising out of this common background advantage, it should show up soon and not take very long to mesh. That's another good thing.
Go Broncos.

What does the last line of the Couch article mean?
"WMU has one or two scholarships available for 2011, depending on whether incoming freshman Kennis White qualifies academically."
Wouldn't they just red shirt White if he doesn't pull the grades or is that a condition of the scholarship?

It means Lamarcus Lowe II.
This kid has not had a stable high school experience, and the end result is not looking good.

Knucklehead, there are three levels of academic qualification per the NCAA based on GPA and test scores: full, partial, and non. Full is what you want with no restrictions on when they can start play, partial can't play until they they prove they can cut it in college classes, same with non qualifiers but they can't be on scholly either.
I doubt that Hawk would go after a player who could be in that last group, but the school/coach can have stricter rules like not accepting partial qualifiers.

No kidding, full, partial, and non?????? Who knew
(thank you for cutting and pasting what 90% of the people here already knew)
Now that you've given me a 3rd grade answer to an 8th grade question, I'll give you the correct answer. This is a clearing house issue which stems from his moving from one high school in Indiana to another in Ohio, hence the Lamarcus Lowe reference, as Lowe moved 3 high schools between his freshmen and senior year.
I'm going golfing. Feel free to continue your quest to legitimize buttfu@king as a cultural norm in America.

I would suspect that 90% of the people here did not know that.
As far as Lowe, the Flint Journal when Lowe was a senior reported he was a NCAA qualifier.

Wrong board-thread, but since you posted it here, I find it enormously revealing that the only correlation you can make to marriage is sexual.
