True. They are complementary, and as long as the Grizz bear Memphis' name, I support them! We're lucky to have both teams.

again, rudy is good and all, but if this is what the grizz consider a "major announcement", then that explains a lot of the shortcomings with the franchise. if it is rudy, label it as a minor announcement rather than a major disappointment

This is what they always do. Just like when the University of Memphis makes a MAJOR announcement for a Sports Hall of Fame. They're just trying to get fans involved and to come down and take interest in the team. Some of you on here do more "bashing" of the City and the Grizzlies, and need to just chill out. The NBA is a league full of overpaid players. If we didn't pay Rudy, it's not like we would've went out and signed some big name free agent, or even made a trade and got something significant back in return. Chris Bosh isn't worth what he's making, Amare Stoudamire isn't worth 100 million, and so forth. So we paid him, big deal. We're not winning a championship anytime soon anyway. I like Rudy, nice guy good player. I'll take Rudy in the starting lineup over Sam Young anyday.

Well "defend" implies at least, a rational response. But we agree, Heisley is a snake and his plan the entire time was to build and then sell the team. Just as my first post indicated. He's just a few years behind and now that the 'penality' for selling the team is stepping down --- well, Heisley's new 'Plan B' it seems, might be in the works. Well, since I've already said it was a joke - just post or two ago - and frankly, that shouldn't have been necessary, no -- I don't think that is what the announcement will be tomorrow. And that's in full sincerity. And as to the city, don't equate the city and Heisley's local business interest. They're not the same although I can see how some here would like to make that the accepted fiction. So no, it's very possible to see Heisley and his business here as a competitor of the Tigers and still be a good Memphian. True.

The Tigers are in a much better situation now then they were before the Grizzlies arrived. If it was a competition like you contend wouldn't the opposite be truen.

I think the Grizzlies compliment the Tigers program.
