RE: Methane leak in the Gulf
Everything about the leak is scary... BP has essentially f'd the gulf for years thanks to pure corporate greed. Their methods were known to be riskier than methods used by other oil companies.

RE: Methane leak in the Gulf
If i'm not mistaken but Methane is being blamed for the mass extinction that happened before the dinorsaurs. I'm not sure how much methane it takes. All I know is the theory is when there's alot of methan in the ocean and lightning(or something else flamable) ignites it. It would destroy the ozone layer and would take thousands of years to fix. As far as i'm concerned is this methane problem is worse than the oil disaster. I may be scared over nothing because i'm comparing the current crisis to something that may or may not have happened millions of years ago.

Methane is naturally in the air, from my understanding it isn't as big of a deal outside of the fact that it is a green house gas.

Take the Huffington Post with a grain of salt. Even Pravda questions their objectivity.

Outside of their political coverage I'm going to have to disagree. Obviously their political coverage is slanted towards the Democrats and the Left in general. When they're covering strictly news like they are here they're a very good news source usually.

Most of the methane in the atmosphere is the end result of the digestive processes of the various lifeforms on Earth...
