How the hell would the Clippers be a better situation than Cleveland.
probably because the previous coach didn't have hickson, williams, parker, etc. their rle players are quite good, they're just not great.
how would the clippers be a better situation? Let's see:
Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Blake Griffin, Chris Kaman (one of the top 3 offensive centers in the game), rasual butler, craig smith, deandre jordan, steve blake, travis outlaw and the addition of al-farouq aminu. That's an infinitely better offensive team than the cavs. the question is, could that team play defense?
This will NEVER happen. Sterling is cheap, and he is on record that he doesn't sell anything. The Geffen speculation is a lark. Sterling doesn't need the Clippers to win to make money. They are a historically bad team; arguably (maybe inarguably) the worst professional franchise in all of professional sports. He will never spend LeBron-level money because he doesn't have to.
On the contrary, since the player salaries are capped, LeBron is guaranteed to be a positive ROI. Not signing him if you had the chance would be incredibly stupid.
ROI? You're missing the point. Clippers aren't near the team cap and don't pay guys max money. Sterling's not stupid but his decision making appears to revolve more around ego and thrift.

now i'll agree that he's the biggest douche. this whole spectacle is appalling. it's one giant "blow-lebron" fest, designed by lebron to feed his ego. this is not what sports is about

I don't necessarily blame ESPN but I mean really LeBron..... this whole thing is losing any kind of cred he'd carry with me.

Yeah, I will pull for a Lakers sweep of the Heat in the finals.
Tell me how Miami is getting to the finals with two superstars who have to have the ball in their hands and an undersized big man who is no more than a decent rebounder and otherwise below average defender (and NOTHING else). Celtics just added Jermaine O'Neal and now have a TON of size up front. I'm not saying they're going to suck, but I'm not sure they should be favored in the East.

you're not giving bosh nearly enough credit. just because he didn't play much defense with the raptors, doesn't mean he can't. look at how paul pierce's defense improved once garnett came aboard. lebron and wade are both great defenders. they'll force bosh to play D. and if he plays PF, he won't be undersized.
RE: Could 7/1 make LeBron the biggest douche ever?
Oddly enough, if LA and Miami do end up in the NBA Finals next season, there will be a former Mountaineer on either bench. I wonder how often that has happened, 2 rookies from the same school ending up on opposite sides of the NBA Championship to end their first season in the NBA. Da'Sean Butler was drafted by Miami, and Devin Ebanks went to LA...
Frankly though, I doubt Miami will make it on LeBron's talent. If LeBron was going to lead a team to a title, he'd have done it already. He's had more than one chance at it. If he fails in Miami, after bailing on his hometown, he can forget about ANY legacy...

I think you're giving him too much credit. Where's your evidence that he can play NBA-style big man D? He's going to have to. They'll "force" him to play D? That's absurd. He's got it in him or he doesn't. And the Heat will fail if they can't play tough inside basketball against teams like the Celtics and Lakers.

just because he hasn't shown it, doesn't mean he doesn't have it in him. and answer me this, which power forwards will he have to defend? how many good scoring PF's are there?

You've got to be kidding. This is the best you've got to support his abilities to defend? I'm not saying your statement is wrong but it's about the weakest argument I can imagine because I can use the reverse argument even more effectively: He hasn't shown it therefore it's more likely that he doesn't have it in him. (There is EVIDENCE to back up this opinion).
As far as power forwards go, you're not looking at the big picture: The Heat will almost certainly have a stiff at center. So Bosh is probably going to spend at least some time defending the other team's 5. Look, I'm not saying the guy's a bust. I just think the Heat are going to be hard pressed to get to the finals with an all world backcourt, a very good at best 2 and nothing else.
