RE: Surely minor reforms would have fixed this..
I have no problem with a minimum wage... however, I have a problem with the idea of minimum wage jobs for anyone other than high school/college students, side jobs, or for seniors.
A minimum wage job should be for those looking to earn some extra scratch. However, now you got people trying to support families and make livings off of ****** jobs. This is what leads to the minimum wage getting increased.
My feeling is if you can only get a minimum wage job, you shouldn't have children and a family. And I feel that the government has turned minimum wage jobs into a form of socialism because they keep raising it so dead beats who are too lazy to get a real job can still make a little money.

Interesting. It always amazes me that those on the right talk about Democrats being "snobs" yet, you are doing just that in your post.

How am I being a snob? It always amazes me how high and mighty loons on the left are, they can disagree with whatever you say by simply going to personal attacks.
Having a family = a lot of money.
If you can't get a job that pays any better than minimum wage = you shouldn't try and have a family until you can actually afford to support them.
If you are only qualified for minimum wage jobs = get your ass off the couch and try and to get better instead of relying on others to take care of you.
Or you can be a part of the chosen people and not do anything and have the government pay for everything. Why not be 1 of the several hundred teenage girls in the CPS to get pregnant and have the government pay for everything of yours? Why get a job when the government is paying dads to baby sit their children or when the government is paying parents to walk their kids to the bus stop?
Everyone deserves a piece of the cake, right? Even when they are lazy no good bums, right?

Oh, I don't know. Maybe it is how you are looking down on people who are working minimum wage jobs as if you are so much better than them. THat is pretty snobby if you ask me.

I'm not looking down on anyone. The simple fact is that minimum wage jobs were intended for students or seniors, or side jobs for people needing to earn extra cash.
The minimum wage was never meant for parents to support their families on, until the progressives decided to increase it and try and help out the "struggling people" (struggling people in progressive terminology are the people too ******* lazy to earn their own *** **** living).
Fact, minimum wage jobs involve relatively no skills except being able to walk and use your arms, and in some instances read and write. You don't go to school to get yourself that prestigious minimum wage job working as the guy who rounds up the shopping carts at the local grocery shop.
And if you are a guy who can only get that job, you shouldn't try and raise a family. Little known fact, babies cost A LOT of money (except for the "struggling people" who need the governments help and get all their expenses paid).

Back in the 80's and 90's that was the case. Today, not so much. THere are more and more people who are working minimum wage jobs(usually 2-3) because those are the only jobs that are available.
