RE: Stephen Strasburg...WOW
I think it was Bob Costas who noted that the opposing pitcher's fastball was as fast as Strasburg's offspeed pitch.

he struck out couple guys in the 5th with a 101 mph fastball on the gun

his change up was 93 mph...93MPH for a CHANGEUP!!!

If he could only slow up his change-up, he would be un-hitable. Maybe add a knuckleball in there every now and then lol.

Dan Patrick said the same thing to John Smolz on his show yesterday and Smoltz said absolutely not you want your change up and off speed pitches to be about 8mph less than your fastball his change up is 91-93 mph his fastball is 99-101 so he is right in that 8 mph window he needs to be in.

RE: Stephen Strasburg...WOW
No doubt, a 93 mph change-up is incredible plus a 90 mph curveball...The bullpen coach said they have clocked his fastball on multiple occasions at 103 and 104 mph

The best line I heard was from one of the Pirates who said he had never hear a ball approach the plate that sounded like it was on fire until he faced Strasburg...Unreal

His curveball reminds me of Bert Blyleven's, who IMO had the best curve in MLB history

Blyleven's yakker was the best IMO.
