Mercer had several key opportunities that were lost, and two questionable strike 3 calls on full counts in the 7th and 9th with runners on led to the end of Mercer's season. Mercer was able to out-hit Alabama 12-9, but the runners left on base added up quickly.

So a great season comes to a close with a 38-24 overall record, and a lot of "what ifs" will be remembered from this regional. The first game was an unavoidable loss, but this Alabama team was beatable.

I believe 6 seniors graduate and tomorrow will find out if any players are drafted away from the team early.

This core unit of returning players can build on this next season. With some improved pitching depth the team could be a regional threat once again.
