I picked up Lindy's today and it has NIU at #93, which I think is ridiculously low. The 3 BCS opponents are #50 Iowa State, #68 Illinois, and #73 Minnesota.

If we can beat the teams on our schedule, we can end ranked there or higher, but as a pre-season - too high, and who cares.

Pre-season rankings are not worth the recycled electrons that it takes to post them.

I agree, but its nice to see us getting solid props from a professional sportswriter, positive press is positive press, hopefully a few solid high-school recruits sees the list (WITH MICHIGAN TRAILING US, SWEET!).

It's summer time folks .....and the kool aid has been mixed, stirred, poured and gulped.

After the top 30 and bottom 30 who's ranked in the middle is puppycock.

To show where we are in comparison to the teams we play, I think it made sense to copy the whole list.

You copying the whole list again was pretty unnecessary.

RE: NIU #49 in Sporting News Top 100
Phil Steele doesn't think much of Minnesota or the Illini based on his preseason all conference player ratings:

http://philsteele.com/Pdf/2010/10Preseas...20Team.pdf

No MN players on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd teams on either side of the ball. One G, KR and FS on the 4th team.

Illini have one CB on 1st team, one RB and LB on 2nd team, one OT, DL and CB on 4th team.

Looks like a dominant year for Iowa, OSU & Wisky. I believe alot of those Iowa & Wisky players will be gone when those teams get on the Huskies schedule.
