UT looks like they handled Winthrop without much problem. Likely to be a tough match for the Bucs tomorrow but it would be great to take them out and in Knoxville especially.

5 of the top 25 ranked teams are SEC, and that's not including very good Auburn, LSU, and Vandy teams. Plus 'bama beat Pepperdine, a perennially tough team. As is usually the case in some other sport played on a court, ETSU is probably a bit under-ranked. They probably are in reality somewhere around 40 or so in the country. Also (and tell me if you've heard *this* before), they are really only pushed by two teams in the ASun, and try to play tough teams early in the year (on the road, of course) when they can. And since our indoor facilities aren't really workable, we don't get enough practice over the winter and early spring.....

I suspect he will.

And not that anyone cares, but I won't be around for match commentary today.

Here is a link to a live blog from UT that should keep things updated.

There were a few ETSU folks that showed up on the live blog and apparently several ETSU folks made the trip to Knoxville today so there may be more interest in your updates than you think.

Rotten luck to have to move indoors again. That hurt us two years ago when it rained against Ohio St. in the second round, and that match was about dead even before the rain. An INDOOR home court advantage is gigantic in tennis - lighting, room around the courts, etc. Much more so than a hoops or baseball game, for example.

Not that we would have won, anyway, but that's just bad luck.
Apparently a great crowd of at least 500 people for this match.

CONGRATS TO THE GUYS ON A GREAT SEASON !!!

[As a tangent, one of the UT online publications noted that when they played UVa (ranked #1 ahead of UT) in Charlottesville this year, there were 2,000 people at the match.]
