Needing an NIU football fix?
Huskies played likeworld beaters.

I deeply regret not having been here.
However, I just may have peed myself if I did.

For those who dissed Meco Brown, take another look at a healthy Meco.

For those who shortchange a relatively young Harnish, take another look.

Winning would not have been possible without either of their performances.

ENJOY !!!

Healthy Meco + good O line = exciting run game

I will miss him, Meco and Spann together were awsome and a handful for any defense in the country.

RE: Needing an NIU football fix?
Haha, I was at that game! I'm a Purdue grad student, and I predicted NIU to win. I was pleasantly surprised for the Boilers that the game was as close as it was.

It took Purdue half the season to really get moving, and in the first half of the year they were completely uninspired. I'm pretty sure that Purdue is well above NIU in terms of team talent and depth, but NIU showed heart all day long that day, and Purdue just went through the motions.

I think I was the only person in gold and black leaving that stadium with a smile that day. Great win for the MAC! Being a BG alum, I love seeing MAC upsets.

RE: Needing an NIU football fix?
MAC schools need to stepup and make such wins much less uncommon...Yep, there have been a few in recent seasons but winning .500 of those games vs BT should be a worthy and achieveable goal annually.

Only then will MAC know it has arrived on the big stage consistently.

We have two opportunties to contribute to that MAC goal and NIU's goal in 2010.

NIU loosing to both MN and UI would simply reinforce existing belief systems.

.500 against BT would be tough considering almost every game is on the road for the MAC team and many of the matchups are not good. If we're playing Ohio State, or the bottom MAC teams are playing most BT teams, we won't win many. But put the best MAC teams against the Northwesterns, Indianas, Minnesotas, and Northwesterns of the world, and we could have a respectable record.

OOPS, meant to put Illinois there. And Northwestern too of course.
