We have to read between the lines here. When Big East expansion was going on Tranghese denied talking to Louisville and Cincinnati and Louisville and Cincinnati denied talking to Tranghese and the Big East. That's because Louisville's and Cincinnati's Presidents were talking to the Big East's Presidents and Chancellors. Thus they weren't "talking" to the Big East but they were talking to the Big East. Louisville and Cincinnati also were given invites without officially being invited. Cincinnati and Louisville were conducting meetings with Big East schools regarding the future of the conference a month or so before the formal invites were given. This is all semantics. The Big Ten needs to get this over with so that we can get on with the business improving this conference.

I think it will be over next month, but who knows.
That's alot of days to blog, announce and deny!

I know. It's more annoying then anything now, but I guess the people who need to know are doing what has to be done. This reminds me so much of when we were on the other side waiting for an invite. The people behind the scenes already knew but the fans had to wait 3 to 5 months for the official answers. Assuming things go down the way that they do I'm curious to see who the Big East adds. I'm also curious to see how the Big 12 recovers.

I think this uncertainty will continue for the rest of the year. The other conferences need to soften us up first with the continual threat of expansion, which will hurt our recruiting efforts, and make any publicity we receive vanish into this air in an instant. Whenever anything good happens for The BEast or Big XII, a new expansion rumor will leak out to relegate all other news to the back pages...
