RE: Greece, Spain, Portugal....
It's an opinion of how funds should be used George. You think building a wall is financially sound and practical, I think giving people the opportunity to get health insurance is financially sound and practical.
I'm sure you're donating your time down in Arizona to fend off illegal immigrants.

See that is the thing. You can't argue that health care reform is financially sound and practical, because it is not. It isn't sustainable and the recently passed bill is already pegged to cost more than initially predicted. There is no attempt to pay for it. You haven't even tried.
If it is such a great idea, why do the liberals want to tax the rich to pay for it? Tax the middle class. Let's all happily hold hands and march to Utopia together.
Why do surveys consistently show that liberals donate much less to charity than conservatives when liberals supposedly care so much about their fellow man? Why did Joe Biden give something like $3k last year, only, to charity? How can the Kennedy's be so fabulously wealthy while they tell me I need to be taxed more to redistribute my wealth, but not theirs, to the poor?
The difference is that while you are spending your money at Starbuck's Saturday morning pontificating on how much you care, me and my conservative friends are donating our time and treasure to help our fellow man.
Thank you and good night.

The policy hurts me financially, and I'm willing to make that sacrifice because I think it's unacceptable for people in this country to not have the best health care in the world. Our country's health care situation is an embarrassment to me and should be to any other Americam. It's disgraceful.
84, haven't you been investing in health care for other people with your after tax money? No? Donating thousands to help others not as fortunate as yourself? No? Please don't tell me you the only money you spend on health care is when the government MANDATES you do it. That is not charitable and it is not charitable to mandate other people to pay for your own or others health care.

05 who said anything about it being charity? The fact is I don't believe it's acceptable for people in a modern society to be in a position where they can't get affordable health insurance. That's my opinion, you guys obviously disagree. It is what it is.
And George, I disagree. I think tax cuts for the rich were financially unsustainable. I think your starting a war while lowering taxes at the same time was financially unsustainable, just as I think your wall is and conservative's war on drugs.
