This is a pretty good movie. It's a lot deeper than a guy who crash lands a plane.

It had looked interesting.

*********************

Tomb Raider / dvd
--pretty good IMO.

Prince of Persia / br
--One of the better adventure movies I have seen in a while.

Rush Hour 3 / dvd
--Had a good plot line and action but the movie felt like a 3rd rehash of the same jokes.

He Man (2001) / NF
--not quite the same as the old He Man from the early 80s but the back story to start with on how Skeletor came to be was pretty interesting.

Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life / dvd
--my favorite of the two.

Wolverine/ BR
--I liked it. Cool back story to Wolverine. Loved Liev Schreiber's bad ass attitude as Sabretooth.

Going to see "Bullet to the Head" tomorrow.

RE: The movie thread
Sin City / dvd
--Love the intertwined stories, the cinemtography, and the acting. Decided not to watch the DC version since you have to manually choose you episodes so to speak.

Bullet to the Head /theatre
--As a strict action movie it wasn't bad. The New Orleans setting was kind of cool...reminded me of Hard Target in that regard. The problem I had with the movie was the Stallone/Sung Kang chemistry never really developed. Also, the Jason Mamoa(Conan), was alluded to he valued something other than money but they never really said what would motivate him.

October Sky / Netflix

1950s WV teen, inspired by Russian space program dreams of becoming a rocket surgeon...eRr...scientist.

Somewhat predictable. Sometimes slow, sometimes sappy but well made and well acted feel-good movie.

It's not historically accurate either. The boy's father never tried to dissuade him from his hobby. He supported him fully...

I thought that seemed out of character. I thought any miner would give his right arm for a chance for his child to not have to work in the mines. Still, I really enjoyed the movie. Some beautiful scenery in the background too.

Skyfall/BR
--Great special features. Print of the movie is excellent. Movie is excellent as well.

The Man with the Iron Fists/BR
--Great kung fu in both hand to hand AND weapons. Cinematography was top notch. I think the story and the dialogue in some places could have been better but considering it was RZAs first time directing(he did music for Afro Samurai) it wasn't bad at all.

Superman vs The Elite/ NF
--Decent animated movie about Superman's ideals versus another group of do gooders that ARE wiling to kill.

Die Hard/ BR
--Good 80's action movie and a pretty solid cast.

Argo was brilliant! IMO, not as good as Zero Dark Thirty, but it's very damn good nonetheless.

I preferred Argo over ZD30, but both were outstanding movies.

Silver Linings Playbook.

Thought it was very good, but not great. Well made movie, well acted, interesting story...but no single thing about it was remarkable to me and to be totally honest I found the "aha moment" to be a bit hollow.

Gonna have to catch it on Net Flix... budget has tightened so I never got to see it in theatres.

**************

Jurassic Park / BR
--the BR print is great in some places but no so in others. I think Speilberg could have put more effort on the transfer IMO. The DTS is amazing though.

Death Race 3 / NF
--Pretty loaded cast in terms of "stars" and it has great off road racing action...but in the end it is a good rental/one time view.... not ownable.

Die Hard 5/ theater
--great as an action movie. liked the chemistry between him and his son. Didn't like they didn't really resolve the main nuclear threat plot before the end.

Predator/BR
--one of the most bad ass action movies of all time.

I am really surprised Disney never developed a sequel to that one.

They've tried and may still be trying (but not very hard).

Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden / Netflix

Although this was made-for-TV, there are some graphic bits that are not suitable for younger viewers.

Can't say how accurate it is but I thought it was informative and entertaining. Especially since we all know how it ends.

RE: The movie thread
watched argo. loved it. to nitpick a bit and spoil, was the tension at the end really necessary? was there no way for the iranians to notify the pilot that they had suspects aboard his plane? if they would have gotten away scot free i would have been just as easily entertained. maybe it was as how it happened. and they touching estranged father/son moments, please. my girlfriend said it adds chick factor.

the master. need to watch this again. fell asleep during the penultimate scene where joaquin meets with psh in england. not the movie's fault, i was just tired. joaquin phoenix's character terrified me, he was horrifying. i also need to think more about the film before i give an opinion. i was really tired while watching this.
