After reading the Wiki on the show a few weeks back and the commentary made about the female cast member they added in season 2 I have to say they didn't handle it well. She starts out as a take no prisoners chopper pilot for the Texas Highway Patrol. Then once she "moves" into working for Santini Air they wuss her out. Also interesting that Charles LeGault played a military man hunting down Airwolf for the Military re appears as a Texas Police Cheif under a different name.

never heard of this show

Well best way to describe it is that it was a mid 80s( 84-86) show about a souped up Helicopter called Air Wolf. The CIA "lets it get used" under a "deal" with one of the test pilots. The deal is complicated and deals with the CIA knowing where is MIA brother from Vietnam is. From then on its spy missions (Cold War themed), or keeping people from stealing the chopper, or missions involving domestic threats.

I had no idea this went past Season 1. I was only a teen when this came out but it was fun. Think Voltron...once he formed the Blaziong Sword, it was all over for the baddies. Once AirWolf hit the skies, it was all over for the baddies. I'll have to search for Season 2

Everything after the last RV scene. It could've won me back, but it was so over the top that it was nauseating.

RE: The movie thread
Independence Day / dvd
--Classic movie IMO. Will Smith attitude made the movie.

The Man With the Golden Gun / dvd
--A decent plot for a bond movie but somehow it just doesn't get it done for me. Interesting that Maud Adams was in it since she was also Octopussy in Octopussy and he also runs into the Louisiana Cop that was also in Live and Let Die in it.

Live and Let Die / dvd
--Yaphet Koto plays a decent Bond villain and the voo doo theme was pretty cool but overall the movie felt lacking. Also interesting that the black guy who was the witch doctor was the same guy who did those 7up commercials back in the day

They cut out some parts that were either a. in the trailer or b. in the book (of course - even though I haven't read any of them yet), but the best way to say about it is...wow.

one of the worst movies i have ever seen. i wanted to walk out within 10 minutes. They raped an amazing book. Filled it with hurried plotlines that made no sense and weak acting. Plus, why was there snow in hogsmeade? It was June

You're talking about a story that has wizards, muggles, horcruxes, trolls, dragons, giant spiders, giant snakes, phoenix, etc. and you're thrown off by snow in June?

horcruxes, trolls, etc. all make sense within the context of the story. The snow doesn't. hogsmeade is like a 10 min walk from hogwarts. if there's snow in hogsmeade, there should be snow on the hogwarts grounds

Someone waved their stick and made it snow. Problem solved.

but it wasn't snowing at that point in the book. Why add it?

Plus, no wizard that was in Hogsmeade at that point in the book are powerful enough to create a snowstorm that leaves a few inches of snow behind

The evil of the "bad" wizards melted it...

I thought the movie was pretty good.

Found this interesting as well:

I'm just throwing this out there but....

It almost seemed like a parallel of the redemption of Anakin Skywalker was akin to the "redemption" of Severus Snape. In the fact their Evil overlord couldn't kill ALL of their good heartedness, their love of a woman "turned" them....

funny thing is, in the book Snape isn't really good or evil. He's not trying to bring down the dark side. He's just trying to do right by the memory of the woman he loved. He's doing it for Lily. Not Harry, not dumbledore, not the good side.

the movie did an awful job grasping the whole horcrux plot. Firstly, Voldemort cannot feel it when one of his horcruxes is destroyed. In the movie they make it seem like he's getting weaker, which is not what happens in the book. Also in the movie they don't explain why Harry lives after voldemort kills him in the forest. That's a huge part of the plot that was left out
