A Force of One / dvd

--Old School Chuck Norris! Also had Ron O Neal aka Super Fly! Also, if you saw Enter the Dragon, they guy Bruce punks out on the ship heading to the island is in it. Basically, the cops in a small Cal. town are having drug issues, and the cops are dying in what appears to be karate inflicted wounds. The police recruit Chuck to train their cops to fight hand to hand. In doing so they unravel who is selling the drugs.

Takers/dvd
not bad and a good ensemble cast with TI, Paul Walker, Chris Brown, Hayden Christiansen. Typical Robbery caper with a former patron, T.I., coming back into the fold after getting out of jail. My only issue with the movie was T.I. being too much T.I. instead of his own character. Matt Dillon and Jay Hernandez play some cops looking into the matter.

Bleach / Season 1 eps 1&2 / NF Stream
--Not bad.

Airwolf Season 1 / NF Stream.
--I loved the show. Nice to catch it from the beginning. gave a little background as to why finding his brother SinJin was so important. Not sure who would win between the other super chopper in Blue Thunder of this guy.

X Men III / dvd
--Not as good as the first two ... IMO its only downfall was trying to have too many mutants on the screen

I saw X Men last night. I liked it a lot. Really good "hashing" out of some of the who and why. Mystiques story arc was interesting. As was her relationship to Xavier. The "cameos" were kind of cool. Lots of big actors filled in a lot of background characters.

Thor was pretty good.... not sure about better than XMen First Class. Neither sucked.

I saw the first Hangover a week ago. I felt it was overhyped to me to watch it. I admit, that if anything could go wrong on a bachelor party trip to Vegas in one night they pretty much did it. It did have its moments but I was underwhelmed with the actual movie considering the hype I got my way to see it.

I can't find the words to properly convey my thoughts on this. Airwolf was one of the cheesiest, rippoffiest tv shows I've ever seen. Was this one of those "guilty pleasure" things? What did you love about this show?

Wow, that's a good one; I've never really thought about that. I guess there are three that I could consider truly great for me, and these three are interchangeable:

1. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
2. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Those three stand out as movies I can watch ad infinitum, as they each resonate with me fairly deeply. In fact, out of the points that I consider to be a good movie, those three hit all four of them.

I can't believe you put the 3rd Harry Potter on there. Are you a fan of the books? As a rabid fan, that movie was the worst of the 7 and marked a real awful shift from the very good first two movies, to a bunch of movies that took big liberties with the source materials

Gladiator comes to mind.
Iron Man was very good and much more recent.

I haven't read any of the books yet; I'm gonna start after the last movie. I like all of the movies...some a little less than others (I'm looking at you, Chamber of Secrets), but I don't let shifts in source material bother me a whole lot. I realize how impossible it would be to recreate an entire movie based off of the source material. Prisoner of Azkaban had to leave out a lot (like the origins of the Marauder's Map, for instance) to hit a decent running time. Even Deathly Hallows - which is a two part movie - had to hack some parts off here and there.

Now, if I just went a step below truly great - which I guess would be great - I think I'd have to go with either Star Trek, Iron Man, and Transformers. Star Trek blew me away from the opening scene, Iron Man captivated me and didn't let go, and Transformers reminded me why I loved the series so much as a child...then, Michael Bay had to go and ruin all of that goodwill with Revenge of the Fallen.

But - BUT! - there is still hope for Dark of the Moon; I read the novelization yesterday, and it was flat-out fantastic.

that's fair. Like i said, as a crazed fan of the books, i couldn't look pass the bastardization of the source material.

Iron Man and Star Trek were fantastic, but I was never a transformers fan so the movie was never going to excite me
