They are already talking down Sun Belt football. They think they are too good for the conference and already need to move on to the CUSA. They dont want to play a bunch of "no name" teams in the Sun Belt. I personally will be looking forward to their first 0-12 season when they start playing big boy football Sun Belt teams instead of the high school teams they played last season. Western Ky changed their toon real quick when they saw D1 football is not 1AA. I imagine USA will too.

The poster that started that thread had 8 posts when he/she posted that. After 4 days of no one paying it any attention, the same poster responded to his own thread to bump it. If you actually read the responses, most are logical. It's kinda petty IMO to pick one thread off a personal board and bring it here. If we did that for every team you might be surprised at what you read.

Like it or not Skully, petty or not, it's part of it. The internet has made the world much smaller, actually threads to your board being linked to other boards is a way of knowing you've arrived...so welcome!

Thanks. :) I forgot people are quick to judge an entire fan base on one post on a message board. The comment I read from a MTSU poster not too long ago about dominating the C-USA before moving up to a BCS conference must also be representative of your entire fan base.

I have seen "we need to get out of the Sun Belt" from quite a few boards-- North Texas, MT, WKU (of course), USA, FAU, FIU, Troy, Cajuns, even UALR.

Its one thing to talk of moving to a "better" conference when you have won at the highest level in your conference. Troy, MT and even North Texas have done just that. South Alabama's claim to fame at this point is winning the Mobile city rec league championship. Point blank, you are not on the level of the SBC in terms of football at this point. Dream big, but remember it has to be realized over time.

The South/Troy rivalry is going to be a good one.

I cannot wait to put some Middle in their Griddle.

I'm not trying to get in an argument, but anyone who read the USA board consistently would know that this is not the overwhelming sentiment among USA posters. This topic will always appear on our board from time to time (as it will on all SB school boards), but the core posters over there know what it would take for that to happen.

I guess every school in the SBC has members with "higher" aspirations, and eventually it might happen. It's hard to understand how anyone would be so argumentative about it when they haven't even played one single year of IA ball, as discussed earlier on this very board.

The only argument from USA fans in this thread is that the feeling among our fans that the Sun Belt is beneath South is not nearly as rampant as the original post would have you think.

I understant that, and that's a very reasonable post. But, I wasn't talking about this thread here, but another one ealier in this board.
