RE: Official Recruiting Thread 2011
Bull Shark is right on about Alvin Delaine. Saw him in the "play-in" game last year vs. Nature Coast. Alvin has excellent vision and ran the ball very well on a nasty rainy night. Delaine is DI material. Baily should be watched closely but, in my opinion, is not an equal to Delaine. Another nearby high school that produces a ton of talent is Ocala Trinity Catholic. Once again, they're loaded with potential DI talent.

Yes. OTC has put out players like John Brantley and Kadron Boone the last few years. Their JV gave ours the worst beating we have ever gotten last year. The amount of talent that little private school has is ridiculous.

North Marion is the best around though. They have three 2012 kids with several offers already. Price, Pittman and Gilmore.. They have an underrated LB that I am very high on who only has some smaller offers too.

I saw Vanguard at the USF Sling&Shoot on Sunday as well - that team will be legit too - tons of athletes. Their 2012 DB, PJ Williams, just committed to FSU.

Saw Vanguard at Gainesville in the playoffs. You're right BS, loaded. NMHS year in and year out is awfully good, especially on their home field with that riduculous horse running around after every score!

Yeah, Tevin flew up this morning.

Here are highlights from our game last night.
Ja'Juan Story is the fastest human being I have ever seen in person. He is a Gator though so focus on Ike Bailey (24), Brenton Nuby (7) and some of our youngin's..(Benyola (40), Breida (4), Berrios (8), Stewart (57), Hart (30). Check them out.. what do ya think??

Yeah, they both have some good squads.
I'm still hoping USF can land DE Jordan Williams from Gainesville. They were the first to offer him before he blew up. Their other stud is DL Trevaris Saulsberry but he is already committed to Tennessee.
Who else do they have?

RE: Official Recruiting Thread 2011
Dakota Acker at 6'5" 295 is an impressive OT/DT. You would think that a 4A school with over 2000 kids and an offensive line averaging over 250 pounds, speed to burn, a QB with a rifle arm (McGriff), and giants on the D line could handle a small private co-ed school of 556 (even though they recruit). The talent level Friday night was CLEARLY in Gainesvilles favor at 2B Ocala Trinity Catholic. Yet they lost 16-9. Why? Because of undisciplined personal fouls, offsides, motion, and absolutely horrible coaching. And I say this with Shane Matthews as McGriffs QB coach. In all my years in sports I have never seen such an undisciplined bunch of thugs on a football field. My best guess is some players on Gainesville squad thought that Trinity Catholic "disrespected" them and felt it was necessary to even the score after the whistle was blown. There now I feel better. By the way, Trinity Catholic has a decent team but never should have beaten the Purple Hurricane. Senior QB Jeremiah Gates was outstanding for the Celtics.

So it sounds like we are in Adam Pittser's top 4 right now. He would be a heck of a get at the QB position.

RE: Official Recruiting Thread 2011
Just an update..
Coach Grant has been keeping track of Ike Bailey. We whooped on our county rival Springstead Friday night and Ike had 182 yards and 3 TDs on 14 carries. In two games he has over 300 yards and 5 TDs.
Here is an article from earlier today from the SP Times.

Eight Recruits Whose Stocks Are on the Rise
http://www.tampabay.com/sports/footballp...se/1121064
1. Isaac Bailey, Nature Coast: The senior running back is 5-foot-10* but only 160 pounds, so he may not have a true position at the next level. Well, except for maybe playmaker. Yes, he's undersized, but Bailey has good speed and vision, and already has more than 300 yards rushing and five scores. He also had a huge spring game against Tampa Catholic. His coaches still can't believe some of the smaller Division I schools aren't knocking Bailey's door down.

Ike still doesn't have any offers.
Our head coach was actually the head coach at Hudson High last year. QB Zack Wynn came from there. So Grant has a pretty good relationships built around here already. I really hope WMU jumps on Ike with an offer soon. Keep an eye on 6-5 250 lb DE Gary Myrick too. He was at Nature Coast at one point but is now at Hudson. You guys really can build a pipeline in this general area if you want.
What the WMU staff did by hanging in there for Tevin Drake will never be forgotten.

It sounds like WMU has maybe started a pipeline into this area. This is where you can make hay in recruiting. Developing the relationships. Thats why I almost think it important to get one of the NMB kids this year again. Its been a couple years. Getting Desir, Ishmael or Virgile would be fantastic.

I think Drake gets redshirted this year, but I look for big things from him next year.

I was browsing one of the preseason magazines in the store, and noted that in the MAC section it had predicted that Drake would be the "Fresman of the Year" award in the Mid American Conference. I hope he lives up to his billing...........next year.

Always proud to be a Bronco.
