ESPN Bracketology
I visited http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology today to see where Belmont was predicted to be seeded. It is no surprise that we were predicted to be a 15 seed. We are matched up with Kansas St. in the South region. I'm glad to see that we were predicted at 15, while last week Jacksonville was predicted to be a 16 seed.

I realize this has no real value, but it makes me happy to see our name in the bracket.

Interestingly enough, Duke is the predicted 2 seed in the East. Pending many things happening in the real world of NCAA basketball (the first being us actually winning the A-Sun Tournament), it's interesting that there is a small chance that we could possibly see a first round Belmont v. Duke rematch.

It's sick to remember how Belmont had Duke beat and it was stolen away. I'm glad to see they put Belmont in as a 15. I don't think any other ASUN teams would have that luxury though, like you mentioned JU was 16.

I was at the game, it was heartbreaking. The entire city of Washington DC were Bruins that night though... perhaps the entire country.

Booooo...to think I was pulling for ETSU over Pitt. Honestly, I would pull for any ASun team in the NCAAs other than DLU.

That's where we differ. I wouldn't have pulled for a single Southern Conference team while we were in the SoCon either. Now that we are out I pull for them at every turn. If we leave the A-sun I might pull for Belmont once in a while...but not now.

I'm not so sure I'd like to see a Duke/Belmont rematch. Part of what helps us are teams that underestimate us and aren't as sharp as they'd like to be. I believe Duke would be much more ready this time around, plus they were very young then and we are now. We need to go ahead and make the tourny this year probably lose bad and get that experience and then maybe be more hopeful of a win in the next year or two.

I couldn't root for lip for anything. As for other asun teams.....I guess I fall into the category if it helps raise the profile of the league, then it helps Belmont to some degree. Granted it would help the team that won much more, but ultimately, all the teams should be able to leverage that exposure to some degree in recruiting.

I agree that they wouldn't be the team of choice for us to be put up against this year. I think that Duke is as strong as they've been in the past few years. I do however think that the mere possibility of it is interesting. In respect to that, I also think that Belmont is a little less capable of giving powerhouse teams a tough game than we have been in the past few years. Definitely not because of lack of talent, but as you mentioned, inexperience.

I'm getting way too ahead of myself though. Right now, we just need to keep our momentum going into the conference tournament. Every game is important right now, and I think that Mercer is being overlooked by a lot of people because of their record, but they scare me probably more than any other team in the A-Sun besides Lipscomb (this is only because in a Belmont Lipscomb matchup, both teams play out of the norm, we've seen it time and time again; you might as well flip a coin to decide the outcome of this matchup).
