Mercer won in Macon... but a lot has changed since then. Can Mercer break the press? MU needs to limit turnovers. ETSU has to run an effective half court defense. Last time Mercer really won by about 20 and then went into a prevent mode.

RE: Mercer @ ETSU ---4/ET
A great team win for the Bears, with a near identical score to the first game (83-78). First of all, I have to say that Kusnyer has been playing at an incredibly high level the last few games. Ever since I was getting frustrated with him he's been unstoppable. I must apologize for calling him out, because a fire had been lit under him that is unbelievable.

The team in this game was just playing really well together. A tough environment where MU had never won. The crowd was hostile and ETSU brought several runs that MU fought off. I have to check out the box score, but it was a fun game to watch. The ASUN is completely nuts when Mercer can SWEEP East Tennessee, and get SWEPT by Kennesaw! How? I don't know. The important news is that MU is likely to play ETSU again, and not KSU.

Oh and the entire 2nd half was without a 100% Florence, and then he took the bench for most of the half. This has got to be Hoffman's best game as the Mercer coach. Solid play calling and decision making. The players had so much energy and desire. Something that was missing from the Campbell game. The team playing like this will not be stopped in the tourney.

Mercer moves to 13-13, 9-7 ASUN. Still in 6th place and trying to move up into the top 5 before the season ends.

Congratulations on your win. You guys were simply solid in most facets of the game, not the least of which was free-throw shooting. Florence was hampered with his ankle but still managed to get to the line; Emerson was a load to handle underneath; and Kusyner answered seemingly every time we were turning the tide.

Faithful, thanks for the compliments. The Bucs are a team I look forward to watching Mercer play every year. There still might be a 3rd meeting this year, you never know.

The biggest problems from Mercer I noticed in the box score: Turnovers (19)

ETSU's biggest issue: 3pt FG % (2 of 10)

It didn't feel like 19 turnovers, but that's just too many.
