Mercer 63, Campbell 69 ---FINAL
gocamels.com has a nice preview of this game already. I know OrangeCamel and the crew are ready for this one. Can the Camels fix the problems from the first game, or will Mercer run up about a 20 point lead again? I'm excited to see this one...

RE: Mercer @ Campbell ---FRIDAY
I think the Camels will win in the Creek. The "crew" and I will be pulling for the Bears after this one, though, with MU having ETSU, UNF, JU, and the Nashville trip coming up.

Don't want to play Mercer in the tournament!

RE: Mercer 63, Campbell 69 ---FINAL
A sad game to watch from a Mercer perspective. MU showed their talent by out-shooting the Camels percentage wise, but so many stupid mistakes let the Camels take 14 extra shots. Also the Bears were horrible from the FT line missing 10 shots there. Campbell scored a good amount of points from nice mid range jumpers, and several close layups that were weakly contested. Mills plays a massive game -- he got a raw deal guarding J-Rod. Mills owned him and they bailed him out with iffy foul calls away from the ball (after J-Rod complained to the ref!).

20 turnovers, and 10 missed free throws, and crushed on the boards (yuck) ruined some nice stat lines on offense that really don't matter in a loss.

I wish I could say I watched the whole game, however, the Camels have the worst and most annoying broadcast I've ever seen. They like to show replays way too often just to get some advertising money. Forcing you to watch a full screen image with a random company logo on both ends of the replay. I missed most of the key MU possessions due to this horrible feature. Also no student section was visible and a pathetic crowd that was a non factor in the game. Seeing this game makes me glad they are moving to the Big South. I'll never tune their broadcast in again, I'll just stick to the radio next year. Nice announcers, but poor design.

Congrats to the Camels on the win. I'm starting to become concerned about Mercer's ability to run a set play with 35 seconds or less and the need to score points. More than once now we've had virtually no shot with plenty of time to get one. Sad.

The most annoying thing of all though -- THE FULL COURT PRESS! I'm sick of it! Our coaching staff does not have a consistent answer for it. Campbell only played 8 guys. 5 of them were basically the whole team. They STILL pressed often and effectively. First of all, why can't we break it... and second of all, why can't we do it back to them!? Solve this problem and Mercer glides through the tournament. It really is that significant.
