Hate doing this but one senior needs to sit!
Another crap game from from one of our senior starters. 1-10 from the field, 0-6 from 3 point range, terrible pass (almost a turnover) to Kool on Kool's go ahead jumper, then basically pisses his pants and rushes a shot when he had a GREAT chance for the game winner. This kids a senior (I know he hasn't played that much in his career) but plays like a freshmen. His FG percentage over the last 10 games must be less than 25%. I really hate getting personal on a kid but dammit I pay good money to watch these guys and I'm getting sick of the mediocre (on a good day) play!
After last game, I said Ward should get his minutes. If not Ward, how about David Brown. He showed me more offensive ability on one move against UT than damn near anyone else on the team. Hell, I'll even settle for Pokely getting Martelle's minutes.
By the way, why was it so damn important for all the freshmen to get big minutes against UT and then not see the floor since (except for Hutch)?

Lets face it. Martelle has been a disappointment. I've got to believe Hawk expected more of him, in his career. He did lead the public school league (Detroit) in scoring his senior year. It kind of reminds me a little of what we got out of Silver Laku for his career. We expected more than we received. At least Martelle did start more games than Silver did.

I did the math, in league play (7 games) he's shooting 29% from the field (18-62) and a whopping 17% from 3-point range (6-35). This type of production from your number 2 or 3 scoring option is a big indication of why we are where we are.
This type of starter production coupled with the fact that Mikey is basically unguarded and D Law and Flen are seemingly always in foul trouble on the road and you can see why we have 1 road win all year.
I hope he turns it on! If not soon, I say it's Ward, Brown or Pokely time.

Well he tricked us all, including Hawk. He had a couple great games early this season, and we thought "wow, he's finally fulfilling his potential!", but since then, he's been the same old telle.

You do understand we have no other true 3. Ward can play the three, but he's only 6'1". Hutcheson cannot play the three. Do you know who the only legit back up WF is? Pokley This goes back to Hairston leaving.

Why can't Hutcheson play the three and use Whittington to back up Lawson and Conteh to back up Whitfield? With Hutch at the three you could afford to have Wolf and Douglas on the court to spell Kool every now and then which would give you two ball handlers plus another legit outside threat besides Kool and Hutch. At one point I too was tricked into believing that Tell had stepped up his game but since we started MAC play ....

When I interviewed Hawk at the beginning of the year he said Hutch was a four, and it would take a long time for him to learn the three. He didn't see that happening this year.

Let me be the first to say I am an idiot. Great game Martelle! Let's shoot for 2 in a row against the Redhawks!

Maybe Martelle was reading this thread on the bus ride out to Buffalo...you can take credit for his resurgence

Well I'm posting now that I already listened to tonight's game, but I do want to point out that Martelle has at least still defended with energy and pulled down some rebounds, even during the scoring slump. Thank god it's over!
As for Hutch at the three, that is something that has occurred to me in the past
