Hey, Will Neighbour
You won't find as many fans here as you might at some schools, but you won't find any that will appreciate you any more.

You might be a ninth or tenth man at a BCS school, but you could be a star here and get a real good look from the pros if that happens. Come on down, Will!04-rock

Ain't that the truth. He could actually be the type of recruit who brings out some new fans. I don't think we've ever had a recruit like that before.

I think the closest we've come is when Newell almost signed Tim Scott after a pretty public recruiting battle with the Chickenhawgs. Ironically, Kestenbaum signed him out of high school, but he wasn't eligible at that point and went the Juco route.

If you come here, Will, you will be playing for fans with a cause. Fans who talk about Trojan basketball all year round.

I can guarantee you that fans at Kansas, Duke, UNC, Indiana, etc also talk about basketball all year round and there are a lot more of them. Hopefully, that level of program is not looking at Will at this point. If they are, he'd be crazy not to listen, loyality aside. On the other hand, I don't think he will dump us for programs that may be a somewhat of a step up from us- i.e. Conference USA (other than maybe Memphis), Missouri Valley, etc. Unless it leaks out before that he is looking elsewhere, we should have our answer by November. If he doesn't sign early with us, I think it will be pretty clear that he has reopened his recruiting and will take the "best" offer.

They do, but they don't in Fayetteville or Tuscaloosa, etc.

That's true of almost all schools in the South, other than Kentucky. Since I have a feeling that Neighbour may have gotten used to warmer weather and would prefer to stay in the South (he's lived in Alabama and Florida so far) that may work in our favor. On the other hand, I guess North Carolina is still considered the South and they seem to like basketball there pretty well.

Okay, I will. But, I have a feeling he's heard of Duke, UNC, Kansas, etc. He may be from England, but he's not from the moon.

Very true. And they'd be great options. Ultimately we want what's best for Will Neighbour, but I think we can be that.

Can you imagine the difference in the attitude of this fan base if we knew for sure Will would be here next season?

I think it would be season after next. He has to complete one more year of Juco. He could sign in the early period next November. But I'm not too excited about this kid. He might be the second coming, but as some has said before, until we see him on the floor, I'll wait to express an opinion. And as someone has said, I'm not holding my breath until he arrives at UALR.04-cheers

I repeat, Will, if you can really play, we really need you. If you can make a 10-foot jumper consistently and play solid defense and rebound - PLEASE, come on down!

It's all over. Will Neighbor is NOT coming to UALR. Let's start dreamin' 'bout Hooper Vint.

Mr. Mediocrity, I thought you weren't going to post that? I'm glad you did. I was debating whether to post it, but I wouldn't do that since you told me this in confidence. I think its better its out there- no sense having senseless pipe dreams.

I have no other info. Mr. Mediocrity got it from what he considers a very good source. It was NOT a coach, so I guess you can still dream if you choose to.
