Donald Lawson
IMO Donald Lawson played his best game EVER as a Bronco today.
He has become a true beast in the middle.

Had two more blocks that looked pretty clean that he got whistled on. Unfortunate Hawk didn't redshirt him as a freshmen.

Yes, Howard Johnson is right, Donald played great today, without him we lose. He was a difference maker for sure today.

Now I don't have to tell you good folks what's been happening in our beloved little town. Sheriff murdered, crops burned, stores looted, people stampeded, and cattle raped. The time has come to act, and act fast. I'm leaving.

RE: Donald Lawson
DL is the man, but lets not go overboard.
CMU's bigs play small, so I don't think to say his offensive #'s today were a little inflated would be incorrect.
But it is a reflection of both his effort and improved skills. He's worked hard and is a legit post player on both ends.
I concur with DB, without him this team is below .500. And that's saying alot considering you have DK and Tel has really stepped up.

RE: Donald Lawson
I wasn't even thinking about his offense when I was saying he's an impact player, he grabbed boards was aggressive GETTING post passes his way, and loose balls were his first, everyone else got in line when they started tipping it around the key. He was beastly with plays that don't translate into stats. I was very enthused with his play. He impressed me with his will to win today.
He must hate CMU.

RE: Donald Lawson
First off, great picture!
I was extremely impressed with Lawson yesterday. This season, he's appeared to be on the verge of standing out on this team, it's just a matter of confidence. I think all the conditions were right - huge crowd, rivalry game, smaller opposition - to give him a boost. Let's hope the level remains high.

RE: Donald Lawson
If he learns to consistently finish the inside bunnies he could be a consistent 12 and 10 guy. Still rushes his shot in the paint, and lacks a legit post up move. On one occasion they got the ball into him four feet from the hoop, he had one man on him, he looked to his left to start backing him down and then decided to kick it out. Given one more year i think he could have developed a post up game.

If I was a big man coach, I think it would give me heart burn if I'm on the chips staff. The have -0- inside game. It's amazing how soft these dudes were. Kellermans 6'8" and thinks he's a shooting guard. He won't mix it up in the paint.soft, soft, soft. Same with Spica at 6'9" he ain't got a tough bone in his body. The other bigs are not worth mentioning. After Bitzer and Harmon set sail the chip team will have a ton of problems. Not one player other than the guards scored more than 5 pts. Hawk, by the way, had to play DL after Berger got hurt. Otherwise he would have red shirted him.

I surprised they're 7-7. As the MAC season continues and teams see film on them I think you'll see teams shut them down consistently. You're always going to die by the three more than live by it. Harmon was shooting from 4 feet beyond the arch (and missing).

That would be Dan Hess.
In retrospect, if Hawk wanted to play Workman ahead of Berger, that's his decision but I would have played Drewbie as a back up to Joe and have had ask my staff to strap me down so I could not NOT red shirt Donald.

IMHO Much of the improvement of Donald Lawson has to be attributed to Coach Bacari Alexander.
