RE: Good news for Tigers: Cutcliff hired
Cut would be the safe hire. I'd tell Fulmer to take over for a year and then hire someone in December next year.

Seriously, I am not a Lovie fan at all--along with probably 80% of the Bears fanbase. He got another year because they owe him $11 million over the next three seasons. The expectation is he will get one more season and then they'll ax him. It would be great for UT to come along and take him--save the Bears some money. Unfortunately, he is just a terrible game manager. If Bill Simmons didn't already tag the line as the "Art Shell face," he could use Lovie's blank stare as his team falls apart as the "Lovie Smith face."
Haha, who is going to be the new OC for the Bears?
They wanted the guy from USC who went with Carroll to Seattle, Jeremy Bates who worked with Cutler in Denver. They are looking at Mike Tice, Ken Zampese from Cincy, and Mike Martz.
Their OC search has gone about as well as UT's search for a football coach. It's been a train wreck.

I think under the circumstances, Cutcliffe is a good hire. If you can make Ole Miss and Duke respectable, you can win at Tennessee.

The Bears have some pretty good weapons on offense, Forte and Cutler are all pro players, just need a WR. I think Cutler will be alot better this year.

Me too. The problem this season was the Offensive Line. It translated in Forte not being able to run the ball. And Cutler never had time. I was fine with Cutler, because when you don't have weapons and are throwing picks, the last thing you want your QB to do is to lose confidence and stop throwing the ball. When they give him a line, and a D to stop people, they'll be fine.
But again. PLEASE take Lovie.

I don't know what is going to happen, it doesn't look like it is going to be Cut or Lovie (as much as you would like it).

ESPN is reporting that Paul Kelley, Athletic Equipment Supervisor at Temple University has been offered the head coaching job at Tennessee but has turned them down.

Yes, plus Grossman was unconscious in a few games, and they caught the super-fast Saints on a very sloppy field in the NFC title game.
I see you also are a LSU fan, you think Chavis will come back to UT is Cut is hired?
That's a good question. He's making $500k/yr with LSU so it may depend on how badly UT wants him. He's only been at LSU for 1 year so it's not like he's got serious roots in the ground.

RC is proof that your athletic programs can enjoy success under dubious AD leadership.

RE: Good news for Tigers: Cutcliff hired
Looks like Cut is pulling his name from the UT job. I kind of wanted him to get it then win the frigging SEC to rub it in the rebel's faces. It is not like it really effects us one way or another what UT does but seeing a rival in agony like OM would be would be priceless. I guess we get the best of both worls because now it looks like UT may just have to grab somebody. They might as well do what we should have 16 years ago and hire Kippy.
Sad thing is they could hire a chimp and still take any recruit from us they wanted.
