Kiffin and USC? Now there's a match made in purgatory. They deserve each other.

On a side note, anyone else think he felt a little overwhelmed in the SEC and thought the PAC10 would be a cushier - and easier - job?

Nobody in their right mind would take the USC job right now. They're about to get smacked around by the NCAA.

Tennessee is being investigated also. What garbage programs those have become.

Wow, shocking move from Lane Kiffen. This has certainly been an entertaining edition of the annual coaching carousel silly season. Notre Dame has been completely forgotten thanks to Urban, Texas Tech, Bowden, Carroll, USF, and now Kiffin.

That makes the move very strange. You would think that UCS would want to avoid problem-coaches while they're being investigated. This sends a message that they don't care about the NCAA investigation and aren't interested in following the rules.

You're on to something......USC just doesn't care. SI's Michael Rosenberg has a scathing column on just that point.

Quote:Well, I really have to hand it to the USC Trojans: They aren't even faking it anymore.

They're in it to win, everything else be damned. They don't care what the NCAA thinks, what other schools think or what the public thinks.

......

If USC were a public university, with elected trustees, subject to Freedom of Information Act requests, the Trojans probably couldn't get away with this. They would at least have to fake guilt for their scandals. Somebody would step up and say enough already.

USC asking for trouble by hiring Lane Kiffin as football coach

Since when is "faking it" considered a positive character trait?

I'm sick of seeing so many SEC schools on probation as if they care.

I'm sick of the NCAA purposely hindering competition to protect their chosen few.

Kudos to U$C. I hope they go 12-1 every year.

Did Kiffin coach at cmu or the MAC?

He seems cut from the same cloth....coaching cradle produces these wonderful coachs who become money hungry wackos?

I'm a big Kiffin fan. Not because I like his coaching style or anything else he does on the field but its his off the field actions that make him a coach I would play my hardest for day in and day out. I laughed everytime he would call out the SEC schools, making over the top promises, he is a young coach that knows how to win high school kids over and put fans in the stands. I wish that Martin would do the same here at Kent but its already to late for it. I wish Kiffin the best of luck and I hope he keeps his antics up.
