Men's Soccer: Akron's Teal Bunbury wins the Hermann Trophy
Teal Bunbury wins the soccer equivalent of the Heisman Trophy
He's only the third sophomore to win the award, ever. He'll be going pro and is pretty much assured to be picked in the top 5 of the MLS draft. He will become the first 2nd-generation MLS player in history, as his dad Alex Bunbury played for the Kansas City Wizards before retiring as a legendary striker for both the Canadian national team and Portugal's C.S. MarĂtimo.
Last year, Akron's Steve Zakuani was a runner-up for the award, and was selected first overall in the MLS draft.
Another mid-major glass ceiling has been shattered for the MAC.

soccer/wrestling/hockey.....olympic sports the MAC can compete in because not everyone in D1 is trying. Far fewer schools are putting the money into these when they do have them.

Not everyone "tries" in football, either. The only real sport that every D-I university attempts to compete in is basketball.
