North Florida keeps rolling along
Folks I don't know if anyone's noticing or paying attention, but UNF is 3-2 in conference play and 7-8 overrall. I'm going out on a limb and saying that their coach is EASILY the frontrunner for Coach of the Year.

You know I was thinking about coach of the year last night. I honestly think that if Murray Bartow manages to win the conference this year with what we're left with and all of our shooting woes then he is coach of the year. If that doesn't happen....the UNF guy is certainly in consideration.

The UNF guy easily wins if they don't implode.

If Campbell keeps winning how about Robbie Laing for Coach of the Year.

Ok while Lang would be a good choice, who expected UNF to win 5 games this year?

The days of UNF being a doormat are over.

I met their head coach. He's a pretty irreverent guy. I wish them the best except for when they face the Hatters today.

UNF took care of us in the second half when AJ Smith went out with an ankle injury and the remaining Hatters continued to shoot like they were all blindfolded - a recurring problem this year. The Ospreys have some nice pieces, that freshman Jerron Granberry is like a slasher version of Hodzic. He's going to be a beast for several years.

I think year three for them and we're seeing a Jacksonville-esque turnaround. Remember it wasn't that long ago that the Dolphins went 1 for the season. The Florida schools (except for Stetson) seem to really be pushing their way up the standings and working towards being at the top of the league.

We'll get there, just not this year. 4 freshmen started against UNF the other day. Although I haven't looked at the numbers, I guess 1 or 2 of them could be A-Sun All-Frosh Team. We shall close our eyes and hum our way through the present to get to the future - nothing else to be done about it.

So far, the turnaround that Coach Driscoll is doing has been nothing short of stunning ...

We played absolutely horrible against UNF this year at home. When we actually started playing we reduced a 15 point deficit to a lead in about 4 minutes. They must have improved based on their record but we should have blown them out and ETSU did blow them out.

Cry about what? We are 6-1 - I think you are .500. Lost to Lipscomb.

You can't lose any games at home and win the title.

Camelfan you can't be bragging about these 6 wins that Campbell has over the bottom half of the league. If they get through ETSU/BEL/LIP gauntlet with a respectable record then we'll talk!

That's a nice write up on JU/UNF... except the complaint about Mercer they slipped in. JU really needs a bigger gym on campus it seems. They are stuck either playing downtown in the huge arena that looks empty no matter what -- or they have a 1400 seat arena on campus. no middle ground.

Yea, if it was going to be downtown I would have went to the game. But since there is a schedule conflict with the stupid circus, the game is going to be at their place (which is sold-out) ... I guess i'll be watching it at home...
