TOWSON, Md. - Towson fought back from a 15-point deficit to climb to within one of Bowling Green's lead but Otis Polk's steal of an inbounds pass underneath the Tigers' basket with 3.2 seconds left preserved the Falcons' 70-69 victory in Tuesday night's non-conference game in the Towson Center.
Polk was the difference for the Falcons. He finished with a double-double, scoring a team high 17 points and grabbing a game high 16 rebounds as Bowling Green improved to 6-5 with the win. Towson slipped to 3-7.

"We got killed inside," Towson coach Pat Kennedy said as he watched Bowling Green outrebound the Tigers 45-35 and score 50 of their 70 points in the paint.

The Tigers began struggling in the latter part of the first half when the Falcons broke a 25-25 tie with a 12-4 run to take a 37-29 lead at the break. They maintained their lead the rest of the way.

Polk's put back at the 18:21 mark of the second half gave the Falcons' their largest lead, 44-29. Towson kept chipping away at Bowling Green's margin, finally cutting it to one when Josh Thornton hit three free throws after being fouled outside the arc with 3.4 seconds remaining.
The Falcons then lost the ball out of bounds with 3.2 seconds left. That's when Polk swiped Brian Morris' inbounds pass directly underneath Towson's basket as the final seconds ticked away.
