This is a weird, crazy game. Not hardly a classic, but exciting in its own ways...

RE: Good luck, Bobcats!
strange coaching on both ends

OU is down 4 with clock winding down and inside the 20 and they... kick a field goal?

then, marshall tries a long fg w a minute to go and a 4 point lead

huh?

Winning ugly is bad but losing ugly is worse.

Meanwhile, the Marshall Whistleblowers (isn't that ironic to write?) continue the tradition of poor sportsmanship.

Marshall will always be Marshall. You can have coaching changes, but nothing really changes.

Bad, bad loss to a mediocre 6-6 team as the MAC continues its woeful ways in bowl games.

Dear Ohio, football games are 60 minutes not 30. Where were you the first half? Way to represent the MAC...

You do have to give credit to OU's halftime adjustments...their D was pretty stout in the 2nd half. But, as NIUGA noted, you can't pack in a half and get down that much when you don't have a very potent offense in the first place.

Sorry, I missed where they said it was a Marshall fan with the whistle. Don't hate just because Marshall is still the MAC Daddy 5 years after leaving.

You're right, it couldn't have possibly been a Herd fan. Now I must.. resist.. joke.. about.. needing teeth... to... whistle.

MAC East daddy maybe. CMU beat Ohio by 10 and never trailed despite playing lousy on offense.

Ohio actually has an explosive passing game, close to the top in the country in big plays made. From your comments it would appear that you do not understand the Ohio program very well.

Its true we played absolutely terrible in the first half on offense and special teams and that costed Ohio a win here. The Bobcats were very lucky not to be down 35-0 at half. Ohio also had the momentum early in the 4th but failed to score a few times in the red zone when the win was for the taking.

So yes, Ohio lost by 4 points but its far from a shame statement for the confernce as some are making it to be. Ohio had a few lucky finishes this season to win 9 just like Marshall had a few bad breaks to only win 7 games.

Oh, that wasn't a whistle. That was just another Herd customer being satisfied by one of my escort goats.

Interesting article about the game from the Charleston morning newspaper. OU had only 12 yards rushing and 123 yards of total offense for the game.

It was coming from the heart of the Marshall section, but I'm sure that was a coincidence.

KC: 123 yards total offense against a Herd D that had been lit up a number of times this year. I only saw OU play twice on TV but (fairly or not), they struck me as an opportunistic team that made the most of their chances vs being an overpowering type team. Your QB had some great flashes, but was very inconsistent. Marshall was a pretty weak opponent and it is a real bummer that OU lost....I always root for conference mates to win its bowl games, even the BobKittens!

Going in, I had hoped that a 3-2 MAC bowl record would be realistic, with OU, CMU, and BG the most likely winning candidates. Now it is up to CMU to stop this streak of incredible ineptitude in bowl games.
