Ahhh . . . It seems like just yesterday you were a scared little freshman!

Congratulations. Now go forth and honor your alma mater!

Congrats. Don't forget your alma mater when you get a phone call from NIU asking you for a donation in a couple weeks. 03-lmfao

Congrats. Hope you have better luck than I have had. I was just coming home from work and I saw a lot of traffic headed to the Convo and I was wondering what was going on.

RE: NIU Graduation
I'm graduating too, although I won't be attending the ceremony. I should have graduated in the spring but I had to take one last class. So I'm actually back home taking it at my community college and then transferring it over.

And Bleeds, no I don't have any jobs lined up. I'm a little worried, I have nothing to fall back on now. This IS the real world.

Yea, the real world is so fun. I've been lucky, I am getting full time hours at my job, however no benifits or such. Either way, at least I'm scraping by. What was your major?

In the same situation as you Bleeds. Getting 40hrs at the Parks Dept, plus got part-time gigs at STATS Inc where I score a few games each week. As long as I don't need to see a doc or go to the ER, I should be fine for a while.
Parks Dept sucks in the winter, unless it snows. I'm just hoping I won't have to suffer through that job everyday much longer

RE: NIU Graduation
Keep your chins up. The right opportunity will present itself eventually.

Of course, having been in your position coming out of school, any old opportunity would probably look good right now.

Rome wasn't built in a day (the history teacher in me is dying to point out that it took hundreds of years, but that might inadvertently run counter to my whole "keep-your-chin-up" message).

Seriously, congratulations on your graduations, and be proud of your accomplishments.

Anybody with experience in hitting target sales and is fluent/speaks spanish can send their resume to marco@protectcousa.com. I will forward your resume to the Sales Manager. I think the salary is $45 to $55K the first year and benefits such as insurance. The company is in a good, fun industry that deals with fire protection and safety.

And oh yeah.. 02-13-bananaCongratulations on your graduation!!02-13-banana be careful...you might get nightmares for awhile that you didn't graduate from Northern Illinois.

RE: NIU Graduation
Good luck grads.
Life is tough, but opportunities will arise.

Special Ed teachers, Nurses, PT's will all graduate with good jobs and benefits.
Accountants, Computer Science grads will also have allot more opportunity.

When picking a major look at the demand/supply curve within that field.

If you pick a fun major with little prospects, you might have to work allot harder to get to the same starting point as a boring, tougher major might have provided.
Swett equity needs to be paid. Either in College or the real world or preferably both.
