2009 Heisman
Toby Gerhart???
Can't see why anyone else is more deserving of it. He's a beast, had ridiculous numbers his last four games against Oregon, USC, Cal and ND
1736yds, 26TDs on the year, leading the nation in both categories
Who else will even be invited?
Case Keenum, Mark Ingram, Colt, CJ Spiller
Most likely gonna come down to him and Ingram and I just don't think Ingram has been that impressive to get the most prestigious collegiate award

I think you invite 5, even though I don't really see that happening based on previous years. The 5 I'm inviting are: Colt McCoy (Texas), Toby Gerhart (Stanford), Mark Ingram (Bama), CJ Spiller (Clemson), and Kellen Moore (Boise).
If I had to vote I am torn who would actually be my winner so here's how I see it:
1) Colt McCoy
1) Toby Gerhart
3) Kellen Moore
4) Mark Ingram
5) CJ Spiller

Oh all praise the great one... Great career but I am so sick of hearing his name.
I just keep thinking to myself that the Tebow era will be over very soon and then I'll never have to hear about him again on ESPN or CBS..That is until some team picks him in the draft way too early

Tim Tebow is the man. My next player in line of all time greats for College football would be Archie Griffin from OSU.

RE: 2009 Heisman
If a white RB wins the Heisman they will cancel it like they did the dunk contest.

RE: 2009 Heisman
The Heisman seems like the trophy that is given to the person that leaves the most lasting impression on voters in their last game, most likely because voters have such short memories. I honestly think that the winner is going to be either the winner of the SEC Championship game (Ingram/Tebow) or if both of them have sub par performances but their team still wins, McCoy will win it. I just dont think that Gerhart will win in this era of QB's (minus Bush) winning it, especially from a private school that went 8-4 (?) this year.

I was stunned SUH made the final -5-. After seeing the Texas game and a few others this year, I would vote for him. He is by far the best football player in America.

Suh is a beast but it's impossible to win the Heisman as a defensive player unless you score TD's (i.e. Charles Woodson).
Gerhart would blow away the competition if he was on an SEC team, Notre Dame, Ohio State, etc.
Pretty sure Ingram will win it after Saturday's performance. The Heisman just goes to the MVP of the #1 team in the country nowadays. Look at the recent Heisman winners...they are awful

+1 ... That is a fair handicap. TV guys are saying Ingram.
Heisman voting can get goofy by region. Last year Tebow was NOT named on many ballots out of Texas and the SW, so Bradford won in a close vote. Could there be split voting in the South with Tebow/Ingram and maybe MW/SW splitting Suh & McCoy so that Stanford guy squeezes in there?
