MAC Bowls Set?
Now that this weekend's carnage is complete, the bowl picture for MAC teams appears to be coming into view.
CMU- doesn't want to play in Detroit four years in a row; goes to GMAC.
Ohio- doesn't want to play in Detroit two games in a row; goes to International.
Temple- wants and goes to play in EagleBank (DC)
Northern Illinois- doesn't want to play Idaho again; goes to Little Caesars
Bowling Green- just wants to go; ends up in Humanitarian.
Ohio vs South Florida in International
Temple vs Army/Marshall in EagleBank
Northern Illinois vs Middle Tennessee in Little Caesars
Bowling Green vs Idaho in Humaritarian
Matchup: if Wisconsin beats Hawaii next week.
CMU vs UCLA in GMAC (assuming Notre Dame decides to stay home)
Matchup: if Hawaii beats Wisconsin next week.
CMU vs Fresno St in GMAC
Oops; a couple of more caveats. Temple and Ohio switch bowls to avoid rematches should UConn go to International or Army play in the EagleBank.

RE: MAC Bowls Set?
Okie,
I assume you have penciled the BT for TWO BCS games.
50 / 50 that will happen.
What happens IF the BT sends a team to Detroit??????
CMU vs. ABS (anyone but mSu)???
(I believe that the team would have to be 6 - 6. Couldn't be 8 - 4 NU and won't be MSU).
I think CMU vs. Minnesota would be good. Minnesota is a cheap flight from M-St. Paul on NWA/Delta with a Saturday night stay over.
CMU is highly ranked enough to be a desirable foe for the Gophers. 6 - 6 doesn't get a highly ranked opponent.

How is it 50/50? It's all but assured. Iowa or Penn State as Big Ten BCS #2. Oklahoma State is out of the discussion now. I think the only way it doesn't happen is if Nebraska beats Texas.

RE: MAC Bowls Set?
Since the BCS is mostly about the $$$, I can't see a second BT team being passed over by Cinci, Pitt, or any other team. I suppose Texas could get upset in the BigXII Championship and become a second BCS team from that league, but most likely the BT would supplant Boise (which of course would cause some bowl shifting; maybe CMU vs Boise in Mobile?)

RE: MAC Bowls Set?
I have SEC (2), non-BCS AQs at large (2), PAC 10 (1), B12 (1), BT (1), ACC (1) and BE 1 or 2.
To me, it is Pitt vs. Cincy and IF Pitt wins, it will be BE (2) teams; otherwise, it will be Cincy and PSU.
That to me is '50/50'.
I still can't see the BCS bowls passing up a ONE loss Cincy team 'just because...' esp. if they lose a 19 - 16 type game to Pitt.

Not sure about that. Assuming Texas beats Nebraska, and knowing that TCU and Alabama/Florida loser are already in, I think the last two spots go to Boise State and Iowa/Penn State. That's what just about everyone is predicting right now.
Iowa/Penn State travel much better than Cincinnati even if Cincy loses.

The Fiesta Bowl was/is deciding between Iowa/Penn State on one side of the equation and Boise/Oklahoma State on the other side of the equation. With Oklahoma State losing its Boise State's for the taking.
The loser of the UC/Pitt game doesn't factor in at all. Pitt for 1 thing is not even in the top 14 anymore after losing to WVU. UC if they lost to Pitt (which I don't think is going to happen) would drop out of the top 10.
If Texas loses, they would then go to the Fiesta displacing Boise State. However, Boise in this case, assured no lower than #5 would also move up to #4/#3 very attractive to another BCS game.

RE: MAC Bowls Set?
Any chance of ND to the Pizza Bowl????
I believe CMU vs. ND would be good.
CMU would not go to Mobile and bypass ND.

It all depends if ND wants to play in a bowl and who wins the MAC Championship (CMU or Ohio).

BG to Humanitarian would be great...if they take advantage of it. Lot's of recruiting available out there.

EMU.. does -2- non BCS AQ (TCU/Boise) mean a bigger payout for the MAC? TIA.

Too bad the EagleBank slot won't be determined earlier...Temple would support that bowl quite well. OTOH, I'm sure that the Temple faithful would be pretty pumped up to play a BE foe in a bowl game, considering that the BE kicked them out.
