It's not the total #s that I'm pointing to. It's the DECREASE in Troy attendance. And I'm not sure how they count in Troy, AL. But for the past 3 years, the number given by MT has been accurate to actual attendance. I'm not sure if we're counting butts in seats or if those that purchase tickets actually bother to show up to MT games.

I'm sure I sounded rude in my posts, my fault. I know Troy's not the only one whose attendance figures are different from actual butts in seats. Maybe MT doesn't do it, but many others due, which is where I base my point from.

To me, I felt like our attendance was a little better than last year, as our last two games had 5,000 or less people there. We had no such game this year.

I give everyone the benefit of the doubt concerning their tone. (A few posts are just obviously assy.) Hope no one gets riled up over my posts, they're not said like that (usually I catch myself if they are). The internet isn't something to get upset over.

Obviously we would like more people at our games. Everyone does. But the decrease in attendance has nothing to do with our fans losing interest. Last year, Alcorn St., our only home OOC opponent of 2008, brought probably 5000-6000 fans. This year, UAB, our only home OOC opponent of 2009, brought probably less than 500. That accounts for most of the attendance difference right there. We also had pretty sad numbers from traveling Belt teams as well. Regardless, as a guy that went to every one of our home games, I can tell you that Troy fans were out in force more so than in years past.

This is the Smack Talk forum, and I treated it as such. That's probably why my posts were a bit "assy." I assumed we were talking smack here. No hard feelings, but I won't apologize for talking smack on a Smack Talk board.

I hate this f'in smack board. I forget that I've opened it. There is little to no difference between the two if you read some of the threads on the "non-smack" board.

I'd rather have a "poor grammar and spelling" board. All the posts by Troy fans would be moved there and I wouldn't have to deal with any of y'all.

OHHHHHHHH, burn. Yeah, I went there. Spelling and grammar insults. . .

Let's all buy MTO a trophy that says "Middle Tennessee - SBC Football Attendace Champion." Than he can cradle it in his arms as he GOES AWAY.

This is the weakest thread I have ever seen. The only good place for it is in Shakira's bra.

No, I don't suffer from "little man" syndrome where I have to find something to be better than someone else. I didn't bring it up, I'm just kinda appalled that you're not concerned that your attendance fell from last season.

CBT and Troy4ever21 admitted it just fine, I was responding to your excuses (and then BurnTheHorse's) for not drawing as much as last season, for your best record in FBS. Its a problem across the SBC but the rest didn't have a 9-win team and a stellar home record.

hey i didnt make any excuses, i agree our attendence was piss poor this year. i just wanted to remind everyone we have a very small student population compared to most everyone else in-Conference. a lot of the time ESPN reports we have 24,000 students...which is true, but that is system-wide.
