Why So Many Oddly Scheduled Non-TV MAC FB games?
Looking at today alone, only 1 out of 5 games were on national TV (Temple/Ohio ESPNU).

I've seen it a few times this season with a few weekday games that aren't on TV. Why are they being scheduled for these days if they're not on TV?

-Are they just hoping to get on TV?
-MAC office scheduling a few and picking the best to be televised?
-Avoiding going head-to-head with the region's Big-Boys on Saturdays?
-Some other reason I don't know?

I bet this has been discussed, I just couldn't find it.

The MAC wants to provide ESPN with selection options.

This week ESPN decided to televise Ohio-Temple based on the MAC Championship implications while the remaining schools played at a later start time.

Since when is Black Friday considered a weekday? There are all sorts of college games on. TV or not, what's the difference?

RE: Why So Many Oddly Scheduled Non-TV MAC FB games?
Thanks, that's what I thought.

And it wasn't as much Friday, as it was from other weekday games. I think I remember sometime during this CMU/Ball State stretch of Wednesday games there were other MAC games happening.

Miami / Temple - Thursday ESPN360
Akron / BGSU - Friday 5:30 ESPNU (early Fri. start time AND just ESPNU)
Buffalo / Miami - Wednesday 6:00 ESPNU (same)

Partially, it might be because the SBC has fewer teams, so we don't have as many weekday games which makes the MAC's schedule stand out to me. At least I'm noticing this, so it might be worth it.

PS: The new MAC logo looks like a soccer club logo (anyone else?). But its better than the Christmas Ornament red & green one.

The MAC scheduling policy is to put as many games as possible on weekdays and then hope that ESPN network picks one or two to show on TV.
