UTEP over Marshall or Tulane over SMU (Not sure how they determine who fills Army's slot in the Eagle Bank bowl, but if both Marshall and SMU win and get to 7 wins it will be a moot point).

Troy over Lafayette and Middle Tennessee over Monroe (Keeps both Louisiana Sun Belt schools at 6 wins and out of the at-large hunt. Middle Tennessee already in the at-large pool with 8 wins).

Syracuse over UConn (As a contingency if ND should win)


Right now the only two teams in the 7 win or more at-large pool with preferences to fill any open bowl slots are Middle Tennessee and NIU. With 3 to 5 slots available, the fewer 7 win teams to compete with, the better.

So, updating this well done post. After yesterday's games, we have 3 teams now with 7 wins or more and now 3 (min) and 4 (max) bowl openings with Wyoming's win? For some reason it seems like there will be more openings than these. I suppose it eventually depends on what BCS at-large teams will be chosen. For instance I don't see anything about the MCB open, but if Iowa or Penn St is chosen as an at-large, that opens up. They woudln't do MAC vs. MAC of course, but still it's an opening. Then that just depends on the ripple effect for the other conferences not getting the at-large.
