Ohio vs. Marshall hoops game
Here are some previews:
Quote:A number of years ago my wife and I went down to Marshall to watch a basketball game. We were sitting one section over from the Ohio University fan section and thus were the only Ohio fans in our section. The game started and Ohio jumped to an early lead. For some reason, I thought cheering every time a basket was made and jumping to my feet a couple of times was a good thing! Silly me.....I was told by two good old boys that if I stood up and cheered one more time they would beat the stuffing out of me. Actually the language was spicy and direct. I sat down and did not cheer the rest of the half. On a more positive note, a older gentleman who had heard everything who was sitting in front of us did at halftime, direct a campus security personnel about the situation and the good old boys were told to sit somewhere else. The gentleman apologized and at that point several other folks in the crowd around us did too. Never been back since and never will. There are some nice folks down there but there are a few interesting fans that I would rather avoid.

Quote:I remember the MAC days very well, and I also remember the MAC fans very well. I remember how the ones that did travel acted like they had a stick up their ass half the time, and to this day, I'm still willing to tell any Little Miami or OU fan to shove it where the sun don't shine. Since coming to the C-USA, 99.99% (because every school has "that guy") of the fan interaction I've had with people from other schools, has been extremely positive. I always look forward to basketball tournament, because it doesn't matter who your team is, everyone is your buddy at the bar; I can say I've partied with people from just about every C-USA school on Beale Street. If we were still in the MAC, that would never happen.
