When I attended Hendrix in the early 70s, that was the big game. Of course both schools participated in the AIC back then so things were different. Now one is in Division I with athletic scholarships and one is in Division III with no athletic scholarships. Unfortunately for my alma mater, the Warriors probably don't have much of a chance.

PTJR, you remember the great Hendrix chant to UCA when the Warriors lost " That's alright, that's ok you're gonna work for us some day! My brother and cousin are Hendrix alums. Those were some fun games back in the day.

I'm a Hendrix alum as well. Go Warriors!!!

That chant is also used by Rice and various other universities that have much better academics than their opponents. It's at least something to raise the spirit when the team can't keep up on the floor, etc. Those were fun days!

Personally, I'm really fired up about the return of football. Hendrix didn't have a team when I was there, in fact it has had no team in over 50 years as the sport was dropped in the mid 60s. It will be great to see what kind of tailgate can go on there as we root for kids playing football just for the love of the game and their school, vs. the ego centric thug crap seen on TV every Saturday.

I'm looking fiorward to it as well, though, I have heard no new news for it in some time. Is it in a holding pattern now? I know a lot of students were fighting it because they feared it would change their college atmosphere.
