Maybe Solo will be what some of us thought
Brandon Patterson was going to be. A dominating offensive guard. Not to demean Brandon's accomplishments, but he didn't have a scoring mentality. Solo has that aggressive personality on the court that makes for very good players. I'm not saying he'll be our Stephan Curry, but he seems to have that same type of mentality. Main difference is that he's not the 3 point shooter Curry was. If he was, he'd probably be playing at Memphis or somewhere like that. But he might be more like Bo McCaleb. Give him the ball, get out of the way, and he'll either score or get fouled. Not a bad combination. But Bo also was able to pass out to the wing to open shooters when he attracted defensive players. Need to get III on the wing side where Solo is driving. Then you have another option. If they drop off on Solo, the ball goes quickly to the corner for a three. If not Solo scores and/or shoots free throws, or both. I like it.04-cheers

We have said for a year that we need Solo getting fouled a lot this season. Game plan.

We have speculated that as good a free throw shooter he is, that he could score in double digits because of that ability. If the Harding game was any indication, it looks as if we were all right on that count.01-lauramac2
