George Grand has announced his retirement. I'm sure it will get more "it's about time" and "good riddance", but I wish him well. With Marty, Thom, Cowboy, and Chris, the booth's were a little crowded.

Have to admit, year after year, bad loss after bad loss, I could not take the
happy sky is always blue crap that was George Grand. I quit watching the Reds in early July this year.

Well its about 16 years too late. Utterly horrible announcer. Super nice guy, very decent human being. But gawfawful announcer. That "Dunn and GOOOONE" thing and the "He hit that one to AUSTIN" Kearns homer call made me one to put a .40 round through my tv. Add to that the constant, non-stop useless chatter. He didn't know what a pause was and he had a nickname for every irrelevant person in baseball..."I was talking to EY the other day, that's Eric Young folks, and Cherlene and the kids are doing great." Lastly, as already pointed out, the inability to ever criticize the team or do anything other than yuck it up even when the Reds would be down 10 zip was the most angering. Say what you want about Marty but at least he lets it rip when he sees poor play or decision making.
