I kinda hope Chicago gets it. To "seal the deal" you know there will be money passed under the table, because that is just how they do business up there in Chicago.

It will be just a matter of time before bribes are discovered and then some more Obama cronies go to Jail.
Funny you say that because the Olympic committee is well known for that as well.

I hope your city gets the "Redneck games". Which event will you enter?

The 200 meter Target Shooting Competition. And guess what, You are the target!
Kind of funny you say that. If I am not mistaken, the target shooting competition MAY be out in DeKalb County not far from where I actually live.

... These guys can hit major league pitching. Old man Daley was never found with money and neither has is son Richie. Rumors are he has up to $20 million. Where you could hide that without a paper trail, I don't know. The current Daley regime has had at a minimum 35 people indicted and no one has broke ranks on Daley himself.

I stand by my prediction if Chicago gets the Olympics, Rahm resigns probably after the mid- term election and he becomes the Olympic Czar. He will be Obama's bag man on the point. Daley going to DC before Copenhagen was NOT to seek Obama's help, but rather to work out the details of the ca$h payouts for the fellas. Some here in Chicago think Obama works for Daley, I am not a believer in that but it is out there.

Eh, I was actually at that site Sunday (shooting!) and while I've seen the articles, the site has been WAY oversold. It is nowhere near something that is Olympic ready or really has any chance to be that way without a TON of money pumped in.

I'm sure that it is just a coincidence that Valerie Jarrett's former employer happens to own the real estate located just across the street from the location where they want to build the Chicago Olympic Stadium.

The Olympics coming to Chicago would be more relative to LA's '84 Olympics. Chicago and LA are already established international cities, while the '96 Olympics practically made Atlanta get into step with the potential it had/has. It also benefited the entire SE USA with events hosted all over the area and hotels sold out 2-3 hours away from Atlanta. Atlanta re-purposed many venues into Turner Field, dorms at universities, etc. and Chicago doesn't need these things.

It can be a money making venture (with no public funds used), but the IOC and Chicago can't want it to be another Beijing. That just isn't practical, or the American way. I just hope Chicago's plan isn't too big and doesn't put the city into (more) debt. They have practically everything needed for the event already, just shine up some places.

This one. Gotta cheer for the American city.

She's the point person on this bid and the one to keep an eye on. But I agree that the O wouldn't be going if his narcissist ego couldn't be stoked. The bribes are probably already paid and word is in to the WH that Chicago got it. All his cronies are salivating at their anticipated windfall.

Maybe if they run the marathon through some of the more infamous neighborhoods, the gunfire will result in new Olympic records.

It was like 2 questions about how I felt. Obviously I felt safe enough to be within 100 yards of the bombing the day after. Just talked about how weird it was to have the first thing I heard about it be the president talking on the TV as I woke up.

But, I hope Chicago gets it. Because we are Mur'ka. And Mur'ka shouldn't lose in anything to Brazil. (except that foosball game)

Personally, I think Rio should get it. South America has never hosted it and we have better things to worry about right now. Hey, here's a novel idea, how 'bout talking to his field commanders and leaving the damn groveling for the Olympics up to a special delegation or committee from the city, state, or nation? What he's doing is just a tad bit unprecedented, no? I mean, Rock Star of CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF A COUNTRY, which do you want to be, Brock?

I choose any place but here. In the years leading up to the Olympics terrorists will have plenty of time to find their way into this country and then to Chicago. Security for the Olympics will start the minute we get the bid and it will be expensive.

Because I love my country and would like to see the economic impact of the Olympic games like 1996.

You want to see huge debt? It took Montreal 30 years to pay off their 1976 debt.

If Obama manages to tip the scales in favor of Chicago, as usual, any success for Obama is punishment for the USA.
