EMU Ranked 1st in Pass Defense
That's impressive but the other side of that is that teams so far don't need to pass to beat us. Wonder what our rushing defense is ranked?

They also played Army and Army does not pass. It's too early to look at stats like this.

Perhaps a bit early, right now in three games the average yards per carry by the teams we've played is 6.4 with an average total rushing yards per game of 288.
As the season progresses a benchmark you may find useful is last year's stats where the average yards per rush was 5.2 and 196.3 yards rushing per game.

We've given up our share of long runs so far. We need to eliminate those. On the other hand, our offense hasn't had any long plays, but we've been able to use more than our share of the clock when we are on offense. I noticed in the UM game, we were snapping the ball with only a few seconds on the play clock, shortening the game by using the clock. That's good football when you're trying to keep the other teams offense off the field.

That is because they don't have to pass against us to win the game. Why pass when you can run. Also we normally give teams a short field again why pass when you can run.
