Well, that shows you how far the program has come. They beat a good football team today. Gotta sure up that run defense.

Yeah, the defense has to stop the run. I'm interested to see how many 3rd downs they converted today. If not for that awful playing calling on 4th down at the start of the 4th quarter, this game might not have been as good. Why do you go away from the run when it is crystal clear that the d can't stop you?

They were 12-20 on 3rd downs and 2-4 on 4th down.

Not gonna lie, some areas of this game concerned me. But lets face it, UC can't blow out EVERY team. They used their survival skills today. Fresno State is a good football team and my hat goes off to everyone on their side. But check them off the list, thanks for playing. Now lets get Miami and take over their stadium. One more thought, when we play WVU, I like our chances of stopping Devine better than we did Matthews. Devine can play phyical but when you hit him he will go down unlike Matthews. As for Pitts stud running back, I have no idea, never seen him play. I hear he's good though. But we can worry about that when we cross that bridge.

We've gotten spoiled as UC fans pretty quick if we leave this game feeling like we lost. A quality team played a quality game against us and we still walked away with an 8 point win. If you thought all of our games were going to cakewalks, you were dreaming. We'll be getting EVERYONE'S A game from here on out. A win is a win and I'll gladly take this one and be happy about it.

yeah, i'm stoked. any win is a good win, and all that, and they faced adversity and overcame it. that int was a gamesaver.

no turnovers and very few penalties on the plus side.

on the minus side, i share the concern about stopping a good running game. it seemed to me our D "line" lacked the upper body strength, or the quickness, to get away from the fresno blockers and make the tackle on the initial hit.

but we are 4 - 0 and atop the bigeast. with usf coming in 10/15, i hope the team doesn't overlook miami and l'ville.

I have to agree although I was upset at the game. When I came home and I'm rewatching the game- its completely different. Well same game, but you see different aspects that you can't really notice at the game. Fresno State is a great team and we just need to move forward. We see what we need to fix (STOP THE RUN!!!) etc. The team will continue to work on their game and we'll be okay.

I know what both you guys are saying. Just watch what Fresno does
the rest of the year, I know it doesn't take me to tell you guys that
that is a really good football team. FWIW- Wisconsin took Dantonio
and his boys to the woodshed, irregardless of what the final score showed and Fresno took the Badgers to two OT's before they lost.

They should have come into the Nip at 2-1. I know it's easy to say
"should've - could've"....but when I seen them playing Wisconsin - -
they caught my eye...I knew it wasn't going to be a UC pummeling.

Does UC have some areas too tighten up at? Absolutely. But what teams
don't from week to week? Enjoy the win and take out our shortcomings
against those Redhawks and their fans who....not so long ago were
spanking that UC ass and sending us back to Clifton. I remember it
like it was yesterday.

IMO - UC will put between 37-42 on the Hawks by halftime and BK
will (smartly) let all the other Cats pounce on the Hawks for the
second half.

Here is the main objective of next weeks game IMO. NO ONE GETS
INJURED to the point that they can't play at S.Fla. I wished Matt
would have never got hurt because their new kid at QB looks like
a defensive coordinator's nightmare. Just ask Bobby Bowden and Fla.St.
