To be fair to Lewis, he does have a relationship with a couple of their coaches. I don't see the big deal.

If the head coach of the pro football team here in town doesn't make the playoffs, point him out and get him out of here...HE DOESN'T LIVE IN FRESNO...HE LIVES IN CINCINNATI!!!

Yes...Sam Wyche inspired.

I don't have a problem with that at all, I see stuff like that happening all the time. He has a relationship with the Fresno people. Heck, I'm sure Oregon State fans were upset that TJ and Chad were over on the Bearcats sideline two years ago.

Despite the schizophrenic performance by the team, Sam stands as my all-time favorite Bengal coach. Running up the score on Glanville, then waving bye-bye is what clinched it 04-rock

To paraphrase a quote by Wyche after that Houston game...

Reporter: Do you have any regrets?

Wyche: Yes...that we couldn't play another quarter.

Classic. I have that game on tape somewhere.

I just Googled and found this: http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=13...76,2842715

Was it the next year or the year after that that they throttled the Bengals as payback?

And honestly, a Bearcat loss would have helped take a lot of pressure off of Lewis and the Bungles.

There's been a lot of success the last 3 seasons in Clifton and Cincy is starting to not be just a Bungles town in the fall. If the success continues and possibly grows, combined with a less than stellar performance by Marvin's boys... might be some clouds forming over PBS

Unfortunately, unless something tragic happened to the entire Brown
hierarchy ( which I hope doesn't happen).....it doesn't matter how
big or ominous the storms clouds are that loom over PBS.

Nothing will ever change, that is why I don't follow the Bungles.

Something big IS going to happen...they are dropping heavy hints that the NFL will end revenue sharing...that'll be the end of the Brown money machine..the problem is...a lot of people will still want an NFL team in Cincinnati.

Who will step up to purchase the franchise?

The City?
The County?
Some...as yet unnamed....new owner?
Or will they simply move to another city?

Love the team...hate the owner.

I'd like to see Cincinnati in a Green Bay type situation...it would have to be a county-wide effort (or perhaps several counties to swing that type of $$). Right now--I don't see it happening.03-weeping

But, Mikey still has the sweetheart revenue deal with PBS. As long as that cash machine is running full tilt, don't you think Mikey will hang in there?

The Bengals won't be able to get out of the lease at PBS for a very long time. When the NFL changes the revenue sharing (there will still be major revenue sharing based on TV), the Bengals will need to sell out the stadium and sell merchandise. I foresee those as the biggest revenues that won't be shared after the current collective bargaining agreement is done.

I was thinking the same thing but with the sweetheart deal that Bedinghaus gave Mike Brown I wouldn't be shocked if there was an out in the fine print. If the Bengals leave, great, I'm tired of watching a weekly reminder of how badly Mike Brown abused the city. Considering where Bedinghaus works now I think the deal was dirty and the fix was in to screw over Hamilton County taxpayers.

NFL rules currently prohibit any new "green bay" situations. So unless they drop the ban on community owned franchises, that definitely isn't going to happen.

But think about it in real terms. Our current local pols can't walk and chew gum at the same time, much less captain ANY project. The NFL could drop the rule tomorrow, Mike Brown could agree to a buyout and these clowns would never get a cohesive plan together, much less get something off the ground.

Anything of any lasting interest or value that gets done in Cincinnati now is planned, financially backed and driven by private individuals and/or businesses.

Even if the Bengals leave you still have to pay off the stadium loans.

It will be easier if there is a team playing there.

If Marvin Lewis visited with Fresno State, how come Tomlin didn't come over and say hi to his former employers at UC?

Maybe he doesn't know anyone on the staff or couldn't care less about Cincinnati.

There's probably nobody still there who he worked with - certainly no coaches. Tomlin left UC for Tampa and the NFL in 2001.

There's plenty to criticize Marvin about, but I don't see this thing as an issue. To me he'd be a jerk to turn down his personal friends at Fresno if they asked and he had the time.
