The Defense
The upcoming game against the Beavs will be the first test for the UC defense. I think there is a lot to still be learned about what is basically a brand new starting D with a brand new Defensive coordinator.

Rutgers starting QB was awful which fell right into our lap at just the right time. SEMO was simply outmatched. I think those who think the UC D is going to step on to the field and dominate are in for a bit of a surprise this week.

RE: The Defense
Certainly this will be the first real test for the UC defense. I would say that from reading these boards there are very few people who think that the UC defense is going to dominate the game. But as I said in the prediction thread OSU scored 34 against Portland State; UC should be able to hold them to less than that. If the defense does that much, then I think the offense should be able to win the game.

RE: The Defense
my take on this game:

the D doesn't have to be great. the offense will score and the defense just needs to do damage control. i think they do, and the bearcats roll out of the great state of oregon with a W.

RE: The Defense
My take is that the D will be fine. Will they dominate they way they have in the first 2 games? Probably not. Do they have to perform at that level for UC to win this game or any other on our schedule? Not if the offense continues to play at a high level even if not as high as we've seen thus far.

Interestingly I saw on one of the OSU boards that they aren't real impressed with our offense downplaying that we scored 47 on a team that has only beaten Howard and 70 on an FCS school. They even said that if they had left their starters in for the whole game they could have put up a 60 spot on Portland St.

I didn't want to spoil their lovefest so I left without mentioning that UC put up the 70 spot with their starters playing only a half and in that half UC put up a 59 spot... 1 short of the entire game output for OSU! Hopefully this is a serving of notice to the entire country of what an offensive genius BK is and just how much talent really exists here at UC.

I hope their team thinks the same way that their fans think.
