RE: TV for saturday
If you have just standard cable, the Big 10 game being shown in the Chicago area at 11:00 is EMU-Michigan. Kind of surprised, seeing as you couldn't get any more "local" than NIU/Purdue given the choices of games the BTN has in that time slot.

If it's on the Big 10 Network, it's in HD.

RE: TV for saturday
Alright, I'm confused now because I just looked up the BTN in the TV Listings on Yahoo for my cable provider this Saturday and it has the EMU/Michigan game @11?? What's going on? Is this because I only have standard cable? If so, this is outrageous!

To find the channel number for the games in your area, go to http://www.bigtennetwork.com/gamefinder.

Due to the nature of how the Big Ten schedules football games on Saturdays, the Big Ten Network often must televise several games at once. In order to satisfy fans of all schools, the network has offered all of its affiliates the opportunity to make these “Extra Football Game Channels” available to their subscribers. However, they are only available for Big Ten Network programming on football Saturdays.

“Extra Football Game Channels” are part-time channels that the Big Ten Network has access to on cable or satellite systems which allow the network to offer multiple football games simultaneously to viewers.

If you go to that link they provide, you can plug in your zip code and provider and they will show you the exact channels your game will be on. Here is the result for Comcast:

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH FOOTBALL GAMES

Catch your Big Ten games on COMCAST! See below for details in your area.

12:00 PM (ET) / 11:00 AM (CT)
EASTERN MICHIGAN VS. MICHIGAN: channel 67 or 256 (HD)
NORTHERN ILLINOIS VS. PURDUE: channel 692
TEMPLE VS. PENN STATE: channel 693
WOFFORD VS. WISCONSIN: channel 694

Not seeing Big Ten Network on your TV? Call COMCAST at 800-266-2278 for subscription details!

Do you know if I'll be able to get the game even if I just have standard cable? Because right now, nothing shows up on my TV when I go to channel 692.

If you have standard cable, you'll have to wait for the tape delay, unless the powers that be change the primary game to be shown in the Chicago area from EMU-Michigan.

I'm screwed in Central Ohio with Time Warner but I will get to see the replay later in the week. Did not relize that it woud not be in Hi Def. That sucks. Oh well I can listen in to Bill Baker and his merry men and watch the game later in the week.

RE: TV for saturday
Since we live in Big Ten country, most cable providers should carry the Big10 Network overflow channels. It most likely won't be on your channel guide until the day of the game because they are alternate channels. I know for sure that UVerse offered them last year, so I'm certain that they will do it again this season, haven't checked since I have no reason to watch.
Best bet, call up your cable provider. In some cases, you might have to upgrade, but you can always call and cancel the upgrade teh next day.

You need to have a converter box and service package { National Geographic, assorted Discovery channels etc) to include getting chn 692 - even if you already receive BTN home channel.

as per "Bob" - customer service agent support I spoke with Wed afternoon.

Ah, the Big 10 Network is in place to serve the Big 10 and its fans !!!! Why would anybody listening to a game call be surprised that the announcers are biased to the Big 10 team?!?!?

Heavens to mergatroid.
