Except you're not factoring in foul shots. Big difference. Relatively few fouls on 3-point attempts.

Unless of course, you get the rebound on the FT attempt, kick it out for a 3 while getting fouled, and make that FT.

That's a 7 point play.

Going inside is overrated.

How often do you see 4-point plays?

I guess that depends on who has shooting when they got fouled.

Actually I have seen quite a few, but normally it was the team we were playing shooting them.01-lauramac2

Sure, you see some, but as a percentage? Not much. I'll say it again - look on the Points Per Shot calculations on ESPN's team stat sheets, the more often than not, the higher pps numbers will be post players.

I guess that's why that's called a "high percentage" shot.

I'll be darned.

RE: Ricky D.
Our two highest pps players last year were Stevie Moore and John Fowler. Guess who took the most FT attempts on the team?

Bound to be Mr. Moore, given the way he drove to the basket (kept going, and ended up on the bench behind the baseline).

Correction. Make that ended up in the bleacher seats behind the baseline before going to the locker room, and then coming out with the team like nothing had happened, and being put back in the game in the second half.

That was a really wierd deal. As Scotto said at the time, that was "Odios NCAA" (may also have been Odios NIT since we had a nice lead when he walked off). I kind of doubt we would have won the tournament anyway, but we probably would have looked less pathetic against USA.
