Last year my bride and I stayed over at the Embassy Suites for the Tournament even though Maumelle is not far to drive from. A couple of weeks ago I tried to get reservations there again (7 months in advance) but all booked up. The hotel on the other end of the convention center was also booked. They said booked for Sunbelt Officials and VIP’s. (Guess I lost my VIP status)

I did call around and got me a room elsewhere for the first few days of the tournament. It’s great that the finals will be played at 1 for the women and 6 for the men on the last day. That’s an easy drive over and back after the games.

With all 13 teams going to the tournament this year I expect to see an even better atmosphere than the great one last year. The Western Kentucky fans were in mass last year and I anticipate A State will do likewise this year.
