Joe Daley (ODU'83) Ties For 17th At Nationwide Tour Event

COLUMBUS, OHIO--Former ODU golf standout Joe Daley ('83) tied for 17th at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational.

Daley shot a 75 in the final round for a 281. He led the event for two days with a 68 on Thursday and A 67 on Friday. Derek Lamely defeated Rickie Fowler on two play-off holes to win the event at 273.

Daley, a native of Chestnut Hill, PA., played for the Monarchs during the 1982 and 1983 seasons. He was ODU's team MVP both years and finished fifth at the 1983 Sun Belt Conference Championships. That season ODU placed second as a team.

This was Daley's third highest finish this year on the Nationwide Tour. He placed 13th at the Michael Hill Invitational in New Zealand and 15th at Athens Regional Foundation.

In 1999, Daley finished tied for 12th in the Greater Hartford Open which was his best finish in his first Year on the PGA Tour. He also competed in the 2000 U.S. Open.

Daley graduated from ODU in 1983 with a degree in finance.
