COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: Welcome To Foreman Field at SB Ballard Stadium
NORFOLK, Va. -- Everyday it's something new over at the Football Monarchs' game day home. This week there have been new names released, the start of panels on the scoreboard installed, more signage, more landscaping, as well as other aesthetics just to name a few.

On Monday, the Old Dominion Board of Visitors approved the stadium to be named Foreman Field at SB Ballard Stadium in honor of Stephen and B.J. Ballard and SB Construction, the company responsible for many on-campus construction projects, including Foreman Field. The Ainslie Football Complex, the new game-day building that houses concessions and suites, has been named for Jeffrey W. Ainslie ('83). The Alcaraz-Weinstein Family Plaza, the plaza entrance for the Monarch football team and fans, is in honor of the Gary Alcaraz ('84) and Lee Weinstein families.

Work on the Alcaraz-Weinstein Family Plaza is beginning to wrap up with completion of the concrete and addition of the lion's head, similar to the one featured in front of the Ted Constant Convocation Center on Hampton Blvd.

In the Ainslie Football Complex, nearly all the chairbacks in the loge and suite levels have been installed.

As for Foreman Field, it now bears the name SB Ballard Stadium, fencing around the astroturf is being installed, and the brand new state-of-the-art scoreboard is having its first panels put up on Wednesday.

ODUSports.com will be posting updated construction photos of Foreman Field throughout the summer as September 5th's kickoff against Chowan draws closer and closer.
