Jack vest trees
What happened to all the trees on the west side of campus across from the soccer fields? There was a lush forest growing there last week and when I came back from vacation this week everything was chopped down and cleared to bare dirt. Is the university planning on using this for something new?

I hope its not going to be another damn parking lot.05-nono

Maybe ETSU should think about oh I don't know NOT taking every student that applies.

RE: Jack vest trees
I guess that ETSU will never get around to building a central parking garage. That was talked about thirty years ago but has never been close to a reality. A million here and a million dollars there over the years of grading out new parking could be put into the garage and solve the parking needs for several decades to come. I guess that is a small quibble compared to other issues the University has...

Maybe its just me, but I've never had a problem finding a spot to park on campus. I dont see the need for more spaces, make the students walk a little bit

RE: Jack vest trees
That parking lot next to the intermural fields never gets more than half full. And the only time of the year that there is any problem with parking is the first week or so into the fall semester.

Hell, there has been construction equipment in the parking lot for the past two years taking up a good 50+ spots and even that didn't effect a damn thing.

The university just needs to tell the students to quit their bit(hn and park in the perimeter parking... but oh wait this parking lot is going to farther than any of the other lots.

I've never had any problem finding a spot for class and most of the time as long as I show up 15 min early I can find one right next to my building.

*A helpful hint* Don't waste money on something we're not going to use or even need. Save the money or give it to one of our many under funded science departments. or better yet just give the money out to the students.

This seems like a major waste of money at a time when ETSU has issued a "call to action" for all employees to look for ways to curb costs. Perhaps this can be used as overflow parking for the massive soccer crowds that flock to that end of campus.

I never had trouble finding parking either. Some days I had to walk a little bit further, but there are always spots out there.

Parking assoiciate fees collected from faculty, staff, and students are directed funds. They can't be used for purposes other than those related to parking.

Interesting. Be that as it may, it's still seems like a lot of $ to spend on a lot that is so far away from campus buildings.
